Guest guest
Oh wow, I just found out about oils. Well it's like this, I broke down and bought some Emu oil a while back. I was kind of skeptical about all the claims for it. But I bought it mostly for my dry skin, and for that it works fantastically. Two or three days ago my knee started hurting. I'm not talking about a little ache, I'm talking about so excruciating I couldn't put any weight on it at all. And I have a very high tolerance for pain. Anyway I was almost in tears because I couldn't walk at all. So I thought what the heck? I grabbed the bottle and poured out a little about the size of a dime and rubbed it into my knee. Well, you don't really have to rub because it sinks right into the skin immediately, but the rubbing felt good, LOL. So I rubbed. It worked by golly! It didn't totally take away all the pain I could still feel a tiny twinge. But I could walk on it long enough to go to the bathroom and the kitchen for a drink! The effect lasted 4-6 hrs. Now I belive in using natural products as much as possible, but lets face it some things that are claimed just aren't forthcoming from every product. I've tried some of those products myself and they didn't work for me. So I must have been a tad more skeptical than I thought because I was completely amazed at what a few drops of this oil did for my knee pain. So now I'm wanting to investigate other types of oil. I purchased some organic Oil of Oregano and I've been doing research. This doesn't mean I'm going to jump on the bandwagon of every oil that comes along but when I try something and it works, then I'm convinced! I found this group and I'll be reading, LOL. I hope this isn't like way off topic or anything. Here's to old dogs learning new tricks:D

Guest guest
Well, I looked around and then bought a 32 oz bottle on ebay, LOL. It's a fully refined oil. If they process it wrong it destroys all the good stuff in it, but this oil has been passed by whatever association does the passing, LOL. It's the most reasonably priced I could find. Bcause of course as soon as it looked like it might do people some good the price went through the cieling. Sigh Anyway, here's the link to the lady's eBay store if you're interested. http://stores.ebay.com/Ginnys-Cajun-Store-Emu-Oil-Product She has several sizes available. If I had known just how little I had to actually use I would have bought a smaller bottle, sigh. Oh well it won't go to waste. I have 4 people in my family so the big size is best I reckon. Err, I hope I'm not breaking any rules by posting the link? I have no connections whatsoever to the person. Except that's where I got my oil. The Oregano oil seems to be doing great for topical applications. If you get a pimple or something just a dab will do that little bugger in real quick. Be careful with the emu oil. Because it penetrates the skin barrier, don't put any chemicals or anything on your skin before you use it or it will carry it right into the skin and tissues below. It works great with other things you WANT to penetrate ito the skin though. I mixed a little oregano oil with some and it works wonders on skin eruptions. I'm going to try it with other oils also. I'd aslo like to try it in some compresses and with colloidal silver and see what happens. , qrtrmare <kinada_48 wrote: > > I know what you mean.. i have been using some oils but to find good ones that's the trick.. i haven't used emu oil.. and there are so many different grades and such its hard time knowing what one is good and why i am really glad i found this group.. as i am new myself and already learning lots.. i also use crystals and stones and the both together can be quite awsone.... and amazing.. > i really believe in oils for depression, i am bipolar and refuse to take all the drugs they want to put me on.. i find that using something that sooths my mind and meditation helps so much more than drugging me out of my mind... > so thank you everybody on this group for suggestions and help > hugs.. Guest guest
I do an Aloe Butter and Emu Oil lotion that goes out as fast as I can make the stuff when I'm doing art shows with my soaps and stuff. I also stock it for me--it's not tons of help with my severe back pain but for joints and my hands it's the bomb. Guest guest
I want to try it with white willow bark or some prickly ash ( in the pain relief department) and see what happens. I know my skin feels as soft as a baby's tush when I put it on my face. I've got a couple of small scars I'm trying to out on also to see if the scar reducing reports are true. I haven't been using it long and I'm terribly haphazard about the times I apply it, so I guess I'll see what happens. I'll bet it would do wonders for helping women prevent stretch marks when they're pregnant. But I don't know about the safety of it for use when pregnant. - Serra Tuesday, November 06, 2007 1:47 PM Re: Re: Hi I'm new to the group...and wow!
