Bush can't run again anyway and it matters not who gets into the White House next time because politicians are liars who eat crap and howl at the moon anyway. ;-) I sent it along cause I think its good news and I think folks will be grinning when the changes are made. I think most of them are to the blood sucking stage and not just howlin'. > > I sent it along cause I think its good news and I think folks > will be grinning when the changes are made. Guest guest
I certainly hope they're good changes! The way it is now, one cable company gets a grip on a town and believe it or not it's the town that makes the contract with the cable company. Then no one else can get in. It's a monopoly on that town. That's not free market. There IS no competition. Then they pad their channel line up with trash that you don't want. They could set things up much differently IF they wanted to. If the lousy channels lose out, oh well. I don't believe I should be used to subsidize a channel that would fail if it weren't forced on consumers. You pay for it whether you watch it or not. Anyway that's my rant. Cable companies and cell phone companies should have to compete for business. I recently had my cable turned off and went to a dish because they wanted to raise my cable bill so high. And no TV program provider is worth that much to me. I'll do without first. In fact I had the cable for my daughter and son in law, and for my grand daughter to watch cartoons. I rarely even watched it. Now I have a little TV in my bedroom I can watch TLC,The History Channel, and The Learning Channel on, and I like C Span, and such, as well as TWC. LOL, but what I really like is the shopping channels and the fact that I can buy stuff with the click of my remote control, between that and my computer I'm set for Christmas. I won't have to go out into traffic at all. Thank heavens. Now if they'd just get grocery delivery that I can order on my computer in this area. That would be great! - Butch Owen Saturday, November 10, 2007 8:22 PM OT: F.C.C.
