question about stye in eyelid

Mine grew and grew and grew! Had it cleaned out today. Freakingly painful.

Stupid anesthesia didn't work. And I mean, it didn't work. Gotta give the

doctor credit though, he kept shooting me up, it didn't work, but he tried.

One funny bit (not at the time though), he put the stuff in to numb the

eyeball, a drop. Apparently that's supposed to do the trick.... When I

started saying " That stings, that really stings (after he had already

re-loaded his syringe 3 times to numb up the eye lid), he opened the eye

and took the drops and STREAMED the numbing stuff in. I'm laughing now, but

believe me, I wasn't THEN!

Okay, to my question... obviously they didn't get all the gunk out (they

kept commenting on how huge it was), so I'm wondering.... how long do you

think it's going to take to drain out? I forgot to ask... It IS going to

finish draining right?

He also took a skin tag off... he kind of got a clue right away that the

anesthetic wasn't working when I yelled " OUCH " when he cut it off! LOL! Sent

it to biopsy, it's just a skin tag so I don't expect to ever hear from him

again. Thank GOODNESS! I'm all wore out from that " minor " procedure

Kathleen,

I've never had one get huge like that. However, I used to get styes all

the time. Depending on the size of the stye and the type (meaning the

bacteria that caused it etc.) it could be a couple of days. They

probably sent a culture off to see if it had staph aureus (MRSA) Did

they give you any sort of antibiotic? Short of telling you to use warm

compresses, and rubbing salt in the wound (salt will kill most

infections due to the ph) when i used to get boils like that on other

parts of my body my dad would take a sterilized needle and lance it.

Also, my older sister was told that she got boils because she had such

low iron in her blood..

now when I feel a pain in my eyelid.. I start plucking out eyelashes and

it keeps me from getting styes. (Yeah my eye looks a little funny

without lashes for a while, but I'd rather that than some infection)

Good luck with that Kathleen,

Is this a continuation of that injury you got from the cat all those

ages ago?

I hope your eye gets to being fully recovered soon.

Jim had what appeared to be a stye forming last week. I had him do an

eye wash with my Damascena Rose Hydrosol - 2 times, once that morning

and once that evening. It appears to have taken care of the issue for him.

Not putting salt in me eye. No way... nu-UH! The incision is under the

eyelid. I'll do the hot compresses though... Thanks!

And Chris, I'll see if I have any rose hydro left... hmmmm
