Guest guest
I'm really behind in making goodies, but in the next week I hope to finish: Individually, I'm using sweet orange, lemon grass and patchouli. I'm making cute little " three packs " so the recipient has a choice or layer them. Body lotions Bath salts For herbal delights: Herbal vinegars - There'll be a Mexican one, an Italian one and a French one, with the respective herbs and flavors of each country. Tea blends - white tea that I've flavored with EOs in a choice of " Earl Gray " (using bergamot mint and a touch of bergamot orange), vanilla and cinnamon/orange. What has everyone else made, or are planning to make? -- Sincerely, Anya of Natural Perfume - rare and exotic aromatics and artisan perfumes, perfumery classes and consultation Natural Perfumers Guild http://NaturalPerfumersGuild.com
Guest guest
Soap, soap and more soap ... and some yummy muscovado sugar scrubs scented with oils of chocolate, coffee & kaffir lime! Speaking of that, its time I get back to making such goodies! We're getting down to the wire! I'm off the computer and away from the phone for the day folks! Leave a message ¡hasta mañana! *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com http://www.czluxe.com , Anya <anya wrote: > > I'm really behind in making goodies, but in the next week I hope to finish: > > Individually, I'm using sweet orange, lemon grass and patchouli. Guest guest
I'm making dream pillows. I stuffed them with chamomile, rosemary, lavender, lemon balm, hops and artemesia. They smell yummy, I'll have to put one aside for myself. Your white tea blends sound wonderful Anya! Guest guest
What has everyone else made, or are planning to make? > > > > > > I'm making candles... of all things. Bunches and bunches of candles.. But I'm using what I have on hand for scents. I made orange blossom (I call it that because my redneck cousins wouldn't know what Neroli is if it hit em in the face) {FO} I made a Wassail (Orange, anise, cinnamon) EOs I made a red wine (Red wine FO from Paige at wildways) Peppermint (EO) Gingered Melon (FO) Heather(FO) and for kickers (I didn't waste any wax. I actually doubled up on some scents.) Meaning if I ran out of wax...for one.. I'd wait until I was ready to make another and finish off the candle. I have Wassail/wine Orange blossom/Wassail Peppermint/gingered melon Gingered melon/heather. I'm working on some others, but have to work doing Medical transcription to get some bills paid. Guest guest
Soap (about half a dozen different types), candles (working on #4 scent now--did Patchouli EO, Polo FO and Cinnamon, tonight I do Sleigh Ride FO) plus Christmas Tree Sachets--Spruce EO in ground corncob in handmade lame' bags, plus some other sachets with the real flower/herb and the EOs. Right now it really smells around here! Guest guest
This is the year my siblings and I agreed that everything should be handmade, and preferably not " things " that sit around, but items that are used or ingested. Soap is good for non-family, but since my sister and I converted everyone to handmade soap years ago, it isn't considered a gift in the family anymore. We probably should have thought that one through. So... I started weaving pine needle baskets since we live on a conifer farm. They are very fragrant now, but that won't last. I distilled some balsam fir from the backyard, and will include a small vial of the oil to go with the baskets. Last year's crop of dipper gourds are turning into some beautiful rattles, too. Then there is loose incense made from balsam, frankincense, and myrrh - with just a drop or two of balsam eo. The small octagonal jar goes into a pretty sack along with a roll of charcoal tablets and a terra cotta saucer (and instructions). Hot pepper jelly and vinegar were put up earlier, during the fall, and they're always a hit. Now if I could just convince the kids that they prefer tub teas to techie gear, I'd be all set. Guest guest
> > What has everyone else made, or are planning to make? > > > -- > Sincerely, Anya > This year I am giving natural body powders handcrafted with essential oils - sandalwood, lavender rose, and foot refresher. For my friends & family that don't care for powder I'm also making lip balm - thought about a cute name like no lead lip balm!- and scented lotions & aromatherapy sprays. The sprays. I got the recipe for the sprays from Mountain Rose, and they are so EASY! Beats the home made presents I gave out while I was in college oodles of years ago. I had taken a mammology course at Purdue, and stuffed lots of field mice & voles. My family members were amazed, to put it nicely! Guest guest
This year I'm not giving out any fragrant gifts to my family, since I did this the last 5 years LOL, and I get the feeling my mother-in-law doesn't fully appreciate it. I made bath oils, bodylotions, showergels, face creams, lipbalms. all scented with EO's. This year my husband is following a silver jewelry course, so he is making jewelry for our mothers, and the fathers and brother-in-law are going to get some fine wine. I have a question for Diane: >The sprays. I got the recipe for the sprays from >Mountain Rose, and they are so EASY! Could you share the recipe, please? TIA!
