Guest guest
As a follow up to my last post about diffusing oils via the heater ... I figured I'd share a blend I am currently liking to make a concoction of: Oregano, Lavender, Eucalyptus, Lemon Myrtle, Palmarosa and a touch of Cinnamon Leaf Obviously that's a good one to kill the bad bugs in the air, yet it smells nice, warm, spicy and seasonal without any one being overpowering or medicinal smelling! I have anointed candles with that too, as there was that study that showed the candle flame helped make the oils more effective at killing germs in the air and on surfaces. Anyone have any favorite blends they'd like to share? *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com http://www.czluze.com
Guest guest
I've been using a couple of combos here lately. One's the Peppermint Eucalyptus and Tea Tree, because we're all affected by winter respiratory issues. That one works best on my boyfriend's father, who has Emphysema. I just keep his amounts VERY light so they don't seem too strong for him. The other I'm enjoying is citrus combined with touches of cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and black pepper. It seems to be most refreshing for us all. I also use quite a bit of Lavender smidged with a little Patchouli and a touch of a glycerin-based Vanilla extract I got as a sample from you, diffused or mixed with some vodka as a linen spray. It's a really nice combination for the bedding since I'm outnumbered by men in the house who'd raise Cain about having " girly smells " in their beds. Stir with corncob granules and put in a muslin bag. Most of the teachers in my school count on getting them for their classrooms for the pestulance return that happens after the Christmas Break. Everyone has finally gotten used to the regular bugs in the school, then they go visit family and friends in different ares, share their germs, do an exchange, family and friends trading their local bugs with the imports, and Wahla! We come back from Christmas Break, mix things up for a week, and the students and staff start dropping like flies the end of the first week back! I have always told the teachers to hang the sachets on their door knobs, which swing through the air with students coming and going. I never thought of tossing it on the heat vents,, Duh what a great idea! I also love your mix, much softer, less medicinal, but still kills the bugs. I may be changing my blend a little! I had teachers calling me today, they each get a little something from me, and they were concerned they weren't getting their sachets. I was out of Eucalyptus, and had to order some. I assured them they would be there for them when they got back to class. (Thanks Butch for fast ship, got the package today, and already started the base!) Chirs I'll be using the heat vent idea a lot! Lynn

Pardon my ignorance, how does one " anoint " candles?
