Guest guest
No I want more time... (actually I really don't) I just think I do. I want it over with as soon as possible. I love it, but I'm a chomping at the bit here. I'm the only one waiting at the shoot for Tax season to be over... (That's my christmas.) Guest guest
Chris asked: " Everybody ready for Christmas and all the festivities surrounding it? " NO. I am still emerging from Bah, Humbug mode, as I usually am this time of year. This is the depth of the year. My metabolism is down, I can sleep 9 or 10 hours instead of the normal 8, and I feel like withdrawing and reflecting. This is NOT depression, more a contented hibernation. I generally get into the spirit just a few days before. It took me years, nay, decades, before I realized that I was responding to an energy shift around the actual Solstice. The Season is the reason for the Season. Ien in the Kootenays http://freegreenliving.com (blog)
Guest guest
(Coming out of Lurk mode)-- Ien, I LOVE your answer!! This IS the depth of the season-- and I LOVE it!! I am virtually alone in my Bah! Humbug! mode here. And I have no intention of emerging! OK, for a couple of days at Christmas. Enjoy the Family and the nieces and nephews. But then it's back to what Nature intends for this season! I love the Silence and Cold of the winter. I love it as much as the Height of the Season, when everything is vigorous and warm and active and growing. Winter Cold is the natural time for introspection, rest, restoration-- for all the things I love to do inside, content near the fire and candlelight, and can't really enjoy when it's so nice outside and I want to be out in the garden. To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under Heaven. I love the Dance!! Many Blessings and Happiest of Holidays to all! (Back to Lurk Mode! Sue NO. Guest guest
Thanks Sue ! I am glad I am not the only one. I am actually starting a movement to move that whole frenzied, outgoing gift-giving thing from the Winter Solstice to the Spring Equinox. In Christian context, from Christmas to Easter. Around that time the days are getting longer, we feel restless and like crawling out of the winter cave, but for most of us the gardens are not quite happening yet. The roads are likely to be better, and it seems a perfectly good time to get out and socialize. Meanwhile, I have given notice to all my loved ones that I look forward to spending time together, but I am NOT going into debt for them this year. I am lavish with the Reflexology Gift Certificates. So I guess in that respect, I was ready! Ien in the Kootenays http://freegreenliving.com (blog)
