Guest guest
I have added a new file to the file section, over the weekend, I will search the archives and add info on ants, spiders and any other animals that I can find, In the meantime if anyone has any " NATURAL " repellents that may help other with this issue, please post them and I will be happy to include them in the file. It would be very cool to add recipes for pouches to repel mice etc, so if you know of any, please post them. One thing that I did discover these past few weeks is that squirrels do not like Peppermint hydrosol, I sprayed it around the only pipe in the attic that I could reach and they stopped chewing around it. Thanks everyone and Merry Christmas! Carol
Guest guest
I am very interested in learning how to get rid of spiders. In my googling I have found that they do not like peppermint or lemon. One site suggested using lemon pledge. This got me to thinking that maybe I could make a lemon scented furniture polish to use on the woodwork around the windows. I've never made a furniture polish though, does anyone have a recipe for furniture polish that might have lemon eo in it? Guest guest
I have never found an effective spider repellant. They still creep down my chimney and hide themselves away in my living room as soon as the cold weather is coming. I very much object to them as they never pay rent and make a mess over my books. Anyone that finds a natural anti spider remedy I sure would like to know. Problem with any essential oils is they do not persist long enough to be that effective. Guest guest
Hi Martin, I agree with what Cindy said about Peppermint. I used to have a spider problem, before I got cats. In order to chase them out from some locations, I would put dried peppermint in small cloth bags, the kind used for tub teas. Periodically I would drop EO on this, and it worked pretty well right where I put it. Might help with your books. Cheers, Christina
Guest guest
The only natural spider control I know of is my sister in law with her vacuum cleaner. I love spiders and since I live in a farm house and often have other less desirables I leave spiders to their own devices most of the time. But the dear s-i-l hates them and sucks them up left and right. Kathryn Kathryn Chapman Painted Goat Farm BEWARE OF THE SHEEP! Guest guest
Does anyone have a treatment for fleas? I have a cat with fleas. Some members of the family are also being eaten alive. He is an inside cat so I'm assuming one of us brought them in the front door! Sabrina Christina M wrote: > > Hi Martin, > > I agree with what Cindy said about Peppermint. Guest guest
Does not work for me. All you get from suppliers web sites is parroted information from aromatherapy books. In these books you will find dozens of formulations that i doubt the authors have even tried. Fed up with trying to keep spiders out of my books. The best suggestion I have seen is to have your own pet spider who sees off the competition, but tried that and they just invite their pals to free board and lodging!
