Yep, hard to believe it's that time of year again.

So. All you witches and pagans of all descriptions, time to get your kit off

and go dancing naked in the snow!

ROFLMAO!

This is ONE witch who's staying warmly by her fire. I'm going to keep all MY

parts warm and toasty.

Ya know, I think I'd actually PAY to watch a bunch of folk cavorting nekkid

in the snow and doing a hour long ritual!

Snicker-snicker-GAFFAWWWW!

I celebrated the REAL New Year by staying in bed till 10AM. You don't

need to be a witch to celebrate the solstice and I sure was not going

out into the frost this morning to watch the idiots naked bonfire jumping.

A Happy New Year to all those who don't follow the Christian calendar

like sheep.

And a happy New Year to you too Martin (still chuckling over your irascible

reply). I got up 20 minutes later than you. However I was just gaining

strength to take idiot son to the hospital.

Dumb dipstick went down a steep hill on a scooter sans helmet and landed on

concrete. Ijit got lucky. Only sprained collar bone, broken pinkie finger, a

sore noggin (hit his hard head too) and a bit of road rash. Dipstick got no

love and sympathy from his disgusted mother.

No worries though, his sisters have cooed and petted him.

The mother is still pissed.

Again, Happy New Year

As when most of us were children ... before helmets, before protective

padding ...

Remember Lawn Darts?

" Life is the lesson, pain is the teacher, and scars are the diploma "

I'll bet he wears the helmet next time ^_~

Again, Happy New Year

Happy Yuletide to all!

Gee, Kathleen...

bet you took a sigh of relief and son had a hard lesson !

Winter Solstice..

The natives here cleaned out their fireplaces from all ashes to light a

new fire for the new Year and to celebrate the coming new light. while

they cleaned out the ashes they walked and chanted ( sorry no nude

hopping )backwards around the Fire to undo the bad of the old year and

when the new fire was lit they walked forwards welcoming whatever the

New Year would bring.

They also where careful not to put too much cedar branches on the new

fire, burning too much cedar is supposedly bring too much snow. Two

months of storytelling at their winter places , than off to the grounds

where maples stood, to make maple syrup for the clan, a beginning also

for young people to participate who might think of going out for a

vision quest.

May the light shine bright for you in this New Year.
