Digest 4118 - furniture cream

Morning all,

 

This is a cream I use on all my solid and veneered furniture -

All Natural Furniture Cream

45 grams beeswax

15 grams of pure soap

120 ml. water

120 ml. Vegetable Turpentine (you cannot use mineral turps for this)

5 mls of lemon essential oil

Grate wax and pure soap into a saucepan, add water and bring to the boil.

Simmer for ten minutes then remove from heat then add the vegetable turpentine.

and stir for five minutes or until cool add the essential oil and pour into a

wide-mouth container. I use an electic beater for this as it much easier to

control. If you want to make the cream with other oils, there is no problem – I

tend to use a citrus blend. However, for Christmas or other feast days make up

a blend to suit your needs.
