Guest guest
Howdy Melissa, > Many thanks for your great information, Butch, you are a fountain of knowledge. Welcome you are for sure .. but in truth my knowledge is limited by what I know and sometimes stretched by what I think. ;-) > I can now pass on to my customers not just an increase in price but also an explanation. I do that often .. its a good policy to keep them informed. I and many other folks could save a lot of time if we totally automated our ordering systems .. avoid contact with customers, etc. But that has never been my Modus Operandi and I'm too danged old and ornery to be changing it now. ;-) Something I meant to include in my last post but didn't. Those who purchase in bulk must be aware of the standard prices today .. there are no bargains out there and if we see one that looks too good to be true .. odds are it isn't. There are just no free lunches in this business .. but there are overpriced lunches if one considers what they are getting for their money. If a seller has not raised their prices on a Rose Otto from Turkey or Bulgaria or a Patchouli from Indonesia .. or a Vetiver from Haiti .. or a Lavender from France or Bulgaria .. and so on .. then I believe that one of the following four conditions exist. (1) They are not good business persons .. they are losing money and they will have difficulty staying in business. (2) Their profit margin was high enough before to allow them to absorb the increased costs and they are smart enough to realize that raising prices even more during a period of economic uncertainty is not a wise move. (3) They are knowingly or unknowingly selling an adulterated product. (4) They might be selling a pure product but the quality will not be high because the Origin of the product is NOT what they claim it to be! There are maybe? pure, certainly cheap, certainly lower quality oils available on the market .. Origin is an important consideration when purchasing EO. Folks decide for themselves if they must accept lower standards on EO or food products or whatever they pay their money for .. but they should do their best to be informed consumers .. if not they will spend a lot and get less bang for their buck. The lady who is considering dropping off this group because its ahead of her might do well to hang in there and monitor what is going on .. odds are pretty slim she will get much valuable info on other AT/EO groups .. I have monitored over 30 of those groups without making a single post .. there was absolutely no way I could take the time needed to correct even half of the errors in the information they put out .. and I had no desire to try. ;-) > I love my business so it's worth the labour and occasional frustration to keep it alive - and the 100 hour weeks as well! Good show. With that attitude I am sure you will do well. > All the best, > Allana And to you .. y'all keep smiling. :-) Butch ... http://www.AV-AT.com
