Guest guest
Hi All, I've been doing a little bit of research on the 'net for " four thieves vinegar " . The stories behind it's use vary somewhat, and so do the recipes for it. I'm wondering if anyone here has some credible info about it, and also maybe a recipe they're willing to share for it. In case anyone is unfamiliar with this, supposedly it was used by thieves during a time of plague to protect themselves, as they robbed victims of the plague who had died. Sounds like a pretty gruesome use for it - OTOH it's hard to argue with things that supposedly work this well. I've seen EO blends from several different suppliers for a Four Thieves blend. I'm also finding several different recipes for herbs infused in cider vinegar. Some sources say to use this vinegar externally and some suggest consuming small amounts of it(?) - as well as adding it to bathwater, and spraying it onto clothing. Since I've just begun my research, it's difficult to know which sources of info are reliable (and SAFE!) and which ones aren't. I'm especially leery about using some of the herbs that are infused in cider vinegar in some of the recipes. I question the safety of their use in this way. Thanks for any input on this topic. I appreciate it. I have a strange feeling that maybe I'm about to be slapped up for asking about this. Not really sure why, either. I look forward to, and will appreciate any reliable info about it. TIA! Linda Ludwick (in cold snowy MI, where it seems like nearly everyone is sick with something or other right now.)
Guest guest
Linda What are the herbs recommended for infusing in ACV? It's hard to discuss internal use and safety issues when we do not know what the herbs are. mjh in cold and snowy Michigan USA Thanks for any input on this topic. I appreciate it. Guest guest
I make a 1/2 gallon of 4 thieves vinegar every year and use it for many things. It's a great insect repellent when put into a spray bottle and I clean my house with it. AC vinegar 1/2 a gallon 10 garlic bulbs, slightly smashed, I even leave the peel on. All by the handful: rosemary thyme oregano wormwood lavender buds Let soak for at least a month, than strain and use. Smells like salad dressing but not advised because of the wormwood. ( I am just super cautious about that C-M
