Guest guest
Morning Rivka, I only use Australian Sandalwood (Santalum spicatum). I blend it with Kunzia ambigua (in Aust we don't seem to have the chemo-type variations they have in the States) as an analgesia. As you will see in the link http://www.sandalwood.org.au Australia has been setting up plantations of Sandalwood for the wood as well as the nut. This is a longterm plan, but does assist in making the plant sustainable. Martin Watt disagrees totally, but here in Oz it (depending on the need) is our preferred Sandalwood. The oil is both steam and chemical distilled - depending on the supplier. As far as the reaction to Cassia. Some people develop a sensitivity and others don't. I wanted the oil for a specific reason - and yes, I did check the data. I was the only one to develop a reaction and none of my clients did. Some people are allergic to some of the lavenders, but we don't stop using them. When I have a client with a reaction I ensure that that particular oil is never included into their blends. I have one client allergic to Peppermint. When I need to massage him I use something else. Again, as in many cases, dosage is also important.
