Guest guest
With all the weather in the news lately, I figured I'd ask .. hows the weather where you live? Its been warm here the past several days. Spring is around the corner as I noticed the first blooms on forsythia and cherry blossoms yesterday and my vehicle had a layer of yellow pollen on it. A front with storms just rolled through and the temperature dropped about 15 degrees in a matter of minutes. Its 55 now .. and its supposed to be kinda chilly this weekend as well. That's the scoop for my part of subtropical, zone 9, Gulf Coast Texas. *smile* Chris (list mom) Save Money Because I'm Busy! Guest guest
Hi Everyone, Well, here in Northeastern Minnesota it is a balmy 9 above at noon! We just had a blast of Artic air the past few days where we had a low of minus 25 below at our house with 35-40 mile per hour winds. Windchills down to 50 below or more. We stayed inside - snug and warm!! Today, it is half price burgers at a local restaurant so we WILL be venturing out! Thats it from here in northeastern Minnesota. We live near the western end of Lake Superior where the big lake affects our weather much of the time. Yours in Aromatherapy and other interests too!! Guest guest
I'm going to chime in from the great north coast (Ohio). We have had some real interesting weather today. This morning cold but warmer than the 9 degrees we had yesterday. This morning some snow but b y the time I got off work at 4:30 we had had more snow, sleet, freezing rain and now more snow. I wish I could find out who ordered this stuff so they could come by and clean up all this mess. Kat , " chrisziggy " <chrisziggy wrote: > > Oh my ... Guest guest
We just had some serious snow, it was finally starting to look like white woolly old times, but now it is raining, YUCK. My favorite winter is to have it just stay below zero (Celsius) till early March, and then have the snow evaporate in sunshine with a minimum of fuss. Guest guest
We have a coating of ice on everything in So. Central PA. It is really beautiful! I went out and took some pictures because the temperature is starting to rise, and the sleet changed to rain. Can't complain too much, but I do think it's weird that we keep getting our first major storms (for the last three years) on the week of Valentine's Day. Guest guest
Weather in Madison, Wi We have broken the all time snow record for Dane County as of yesterday. They have been keeping records for 139 years. Last week the snow dropped 13 " in one afternoon and the National Guard was called out to distribute water, blankets and gasoline to folks who were strained on the 90/94 interstate for more than 12 hours. While it is 4 degrees this morning it have been as low as 50 below wind chill. I realized my blood had " thickened up " since I moved here from North Caroline, in 2000, when 2 weeks ago on Saturday, with wind chills of -25, my girlfriend and I decided it was a great time to go shopping downtown because any one with any sense would be at home. Sure enough we were the only customers in every store we entered. No matter what your weather hope you are enjoying the beauty of nature. -- ********************************************** Thoughts become things... choose the good ones! ********************************************** Janet Hogan 608.276.3763 - Phone 608-274-4081 - Fax janetkhogan - email
Guest guest
I'm about 100 miles northwest of Chris, outside Bryan, Texas. Got a pretty hefty storm yesterday, temps dropped (as Chris said). I was glad to see it, we haven't really had a winter this year ... I still have fire wood I'd like to use in the fireplace. However, all this does prompt me to ask those of you in the northern parts of the country -- how has having the internet and changed your " survival " during the winter? I would guess it's been rather nice to be able to communicate, etc., when house bound due to extreme temps and such. Guest guest
Here in northwest Montana, the snow has stopped finally for a few days, seeing some sun and pushing 40 degrees during the day - downright balmy! Deb
Guest guest
.... and we're whinging in Sydney. It is about 25 - 28 Celcius and getting lots of rain. Everything is soggy and the poor Grey-Headed Flying Foxes are getting all excited about the domestic figs and getting caught up and hurt by bird netting. I'm flat out working with the injured ones.
