Guest guest
Howdy y'all, Icy Hot Patches are being recalled ... http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/23116830/ Why? First, Second and Third Degree burns .. and various forms of skin irritation. Do they work? You betcha they do .. that's why folks use them frequently and leave them on a long time .. same same with Wintergreen and Sweet Birch. Should we use them .. or Wintergreen or Sweet Birch .. frequently? Absolutely not .. but because they do work folks use all of them and the warnings on them are strictly for the purpose of covering the butts of the sellers .. they know that people will not stop overusing something that works. For many years now I've written on the dangers of Methyl salicylate .. over 40 messages to this News Group alone .. odds are some people have paid attention to those posts. ;-) From the I-Net I pulled up the active ingredients of Icy Hot products. - The patches contain 5% menthol - The balm contains 7.6% menthol and 29% methyl salicylate - The sleeves contain 16% menthol - The *Chill Stick* contains 10% menthol and 30% methyl salicylate - The foam contains 5% menthol. - The cream contains 10% menthol and 30% methyl salicylate Ben Gay and all the other creams designed to stop muscle pain have similar ... or higher .. percentages of these chemicals. When something is not good for us we can disregard that fact if it makes us feel better .. like a shot of heroin for the heroin addict .. a few fingers of Bourbon for the alcoholic .. a double fat burger with cheese for the foodaholic .. and another cigarette for those so addicted. Same same for these preparations used to stop pain. Y'all keep smiling. :-) Butch ... http://www.AV-AT.com <http://www.av-at.com/>
