Guest guest
If you order from the same ladies I do, they might add it to a buy they're running or about to run if they know someone's in dire need. Feel free to contact me offlist if I can help. Guest guest
Would you mind sharing the name of the co-op you buy from? You can send me the info privately if you'd like. Thanks. Guest guest
Soaper Supplies has Bulgarian Lavender. I have an empty bottle of it sitting here as a reminder to order more. Since I am not on their site, do not know if they have triple distilled peppermint. hth, Elmira Linda Kellum <lindatkellum wrote: Never miss a thing. Make your homepage. Guest guest
Thought some of you may find this of interest. It comes from someone who has spent well over 30 years in the extraction trade. He knows as much on this subject as anyone, certainly far more than any aromatherapy suppliers. Martin Watt http://www.aromamedical.com ------------------------ Hi Martin, Lavender Oil is not triple distilled and there is no point to such a thing. Peppermint is: 1) Steam distilled to remove it from the plant 2) Fractionally distilled under high vacuum to remove the front end terpenes 3) Fractionally distilled under vacuum to remove the back end sesquiterpenes. This is so called " triple distilled " and the only reason is for flavour and fragrance work where excellent solubility is demanded. It is a negative aspect for aromatherapy as the oil is missing some of its " therapeutic characteristics " . Lavender oil could only be separated into its individual components by such treatment and the only reason for this would be to remove eucalyptol and camphor from lavandin oils to pass off what is left as lavender oils. As you say - a load of bull. Guest guest
No one said the Lavender was triple-distilled, just the Peppermint. Having a Peppermint EO with the terpenes removed works well for skin care products, as the terpenes can make the skin photosensitive. However, I can see where it would make a difference in aromatherapy. The Lavender we're discussing is a simple Bulgarian Lavender--distilled only once. Please confirm where you got that information as I have no evidence that peppermint is a photosensitiser. Also which terpenes out of thousands?
