Guest guest
I saw the NOW products in a GNC store. There were carrier oils, eo's and shea butter. Just wondering if anyone has ever used them and what their thoughts are. Susan
Guest guest
Hi, Susan (love that name, BTW :-) I've never used the carrier oils, but from years of absorbing info from lists like this one, and after a very brief dabbling with some popular lines from health food chains, my experience is that oils from individual sellers that you trust are always a better bet. Individual retailers are relying on their reputation and word-of-mouth for their livelihood, unlike the big name brands who rely on mass production and mass marketing, and product placement in popular venues. Their business plans tend to emphasize low cost and high profit margin, while individual sellers concentrate more on product testing and quality, and a lower profit margin. This list has a number of VERY reputable purveyors of all things oily (who I won't name for fear of leaving some out!) and you probably already know them anyway. Specifically, the two NOW brand oils I bought smelled nothing like the versions that I later bought from people I trusted. Same goes for 2 of the 3 Aura Cacia oils I started out with. I'd be interested to hear people's opinions on mass-produced carrier oils. Is there less of a problem with carrier oils being yucky than there is with essential oils? I guess what I'm asking is, for the commonest carrier oils, are they not even worth adulterating or mislabeling, and would they be " safer " to buy from a chain store than essential oils would be? Guest guest
Hi Susan, I use them all the time and have good success with them and their prices are reasonable, You will find them in Health Food Stores, and Natural Grocers like Wild Oats, Whole Foods and Vitamin Cottage, Lynn susan <ripple95 wrote: I saw the NOW products in a GNC store.
