Guest guest
OK, I get it. Are tootsie roll pieces more effective than peanut butter? I don't as a rule buy that sort of stuff and don't really crave it, but if we do have it in the house, like around Halloween, I eat it. That's the last thing I need. Will Power and I have never gotten along. As for the humanitarian issues: we are part of Nature. She's a killer. Paradoxically, when we try to be totally nonviolent we remove ourselves even more from Nature. I would prefer to have my garden space organically controlled by sister Coyote, whose diet is largely rodent based. But these days we have to have a fence to keep the deer out. I have tried to commune with said deer and come to an agreement, like, they take no more than 20% of everything, but they insisted on mowing down any green shoot. If I knew how to handle a gun I would have no qualms at filling the freezer, but aim is not one of my skills. After years of almost no garden we finally have a decent fence again, and now we get these * & ^% !!! rodents. Suffering bugs me, killing does not. It is their role to be prey. I may surround the potato plot with Cayenne powder. Guest guest
How about a couple ole barnyard cats to patrol the garden area - they tend to not have a big problem with fences either! Deb
