Guest guest
Hi all, Hopefully this subject falls under etc... Yesterday I was at my shop, looked out the back window over the parking lot and there was a HUGE swarm of bees. Thousands of them. I've never seen anything like it in real life before. It was amazing and kinda freaky at the same time. They moved slowly to the front of the shop and into a very busy street. They continued for quite a bit of time down the street, stopping in front of my neighbors place where there were lots of flowering plants and then onward. This was not a small group of bees, it was a large cloud taking up a very large amount of space. What were they doing? Where were they going? They looked like large honey bees, though someone who was trapped in my shop till they left due to bee allergies said they looked like wasps. I don't think they were wasps. Anyone have any info to share about this type of swarm/migration activity? Guest guest
They're swarming and looking to form a new hive. This happened to my HOUSE twice since living down here in TX. Its really freaky to witness (and rather unsettling if you're outside in the middle of it)! Don't be surprised if in the coming days you hear of someone on the block needing a beekeeper to remove them! *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com , mohea wrote: > > Hi all, > > Hopefully this subject falls under etc... > > Yesterday I was at my shop, looked out the back window over the parking lot and there was a HUGE swarm of bees. Guest guest
Wow! I never even heard of that before. When I was watching them from my front window, there was guy across the street oblivious to them. He had stopped on the sidewalk and was reading something on a paper. We were afraid to open our door since the bees were right there and so just watched him. Finally one bee got close to his face and he swatted at it then like in a movie saw the swarm and FREAKED! He ran I imagine as fast as he could to his car. Was really something. Glad they moved past my shop! However the landlord never put a window back over the opening to the attic out back so it really surprises me they didn't choose there. Can't believe you've had it happen 2x in your house!!!
