Guest guest
Hi Lawrence & all: Red clover is easy to grow. Just make sure you are getting the round blossom Red Clover as there is an elongated one that is used as a cover crop and along highways and is a bit different. You can essentially grow Red Clover by scratching the ground and spreading seed, but you might want to cover it a bit with dirt and press it down with your shoes, especially if you are in an area with lots of wind. Here is my take on buying some types of seed: No flaming please, this is just my take on things due to my Master Gardening background. Does not matter if it's organic or not. Why? Basically, if you flush a seed/plant with water for a couple of weeks, most chemicals are gonna flush out anyway. You might want to check ebay to see if you can get a good price on seed. Have noticed that most of the sellers on there now have done studies on the germination rate, and rate their seed by percentages. Other than that, any good seed company will probably have red clover. We have red clover growing in both sun and shade. Have a lovely gardening season, deb
