To mark the Guild's 2nd Anniversary: A Position Paper is Released

Hi Everyone:

 

There have been a number of wonderful, generous people who have helped

put this document together and without them, the forward movement of

natural perfumery would not be possible on this, June 1, 2008, the 2nd

Anniversary of the Guild.

 

This began months ago when several of us realized that a US organization

was moving forward with a " seal of approval " on natural products, hoping

for legislation that would define all natural products, including

natural perfume. We decided a brief Position Paper to kickstart the

movement from our end was necessary, since their definition allowed for

a percentage of synthetics in " natural " perfume.

 

It was decided we needed to move towards several goals:

 

1. Define natural perfume and the natural perfumery products

2. Move towards being a self-regulating industry

It's been a long day, as many of those involved helped proofread and

polish the final document, so I'm signing off for some R & R and I just

wanted to share that I am amazed at the support and lovely nature of

everyone who agreed to help with this project.

 

There will be more projects in the months to come, as you will read in

the paper, so I encourage you to volunteer and assist in our efforts.
