Thank you ma'am .. appreciated are your comments. :-)

> I am Lori Mitchell from Kalispell Montana, just a quickie intro. I'm a

Hospice Nurse who moonlights in the Emergency Room. Aromatherapy has been a

part of my nursing practice for over 7 years.

> Just now launching an official AT program into the hospital policy and

procedures for Home Care and Hospice. Have also done this for Critical Care

and Skilled Nursing Facilities.

Wishing you luck I am .. we need more professional medical folks to get

involved in this industry.

> I've enjoyed lurking, little time to post, but just had to respond to

this. Butch....you are a beacon of light in the world of aromatics. I know

what you are saying about how discouraging it is trying to educate folks,

and herding cats etc.

Thank you ma'am .. it is certainly tiring. Sometimes I think its a bit

like religion .. or choice of a minister. Seems that folks will flock to

the minister who tells them what they want to hear. Those ministers who

have no agenda other than spiritual guidance are often not in as high a

demand as the other types. ;-)

> The bizarre YL cult dominates here. I've nearly given up but not quite.

Truth is, many people don't want to or cannot spend the time to devote to

learning on a level more than a weekend seminar, or MLM phamplets. In my

opinion this is fine when

> they are just in it for themselves. They can spend what they want, and use

it however for themselves, they only risk being a personal one. However,

when they start " treating " other people, clients etc. That...is a different

story!

Matter of fact that is. We can lead some folks to knowledge but we can't

make them think. In this unregulated industry there is great potential for

harm to clients when these folks practice on others. In time the industry

will be regulated too much .. like is the case in Europe now .. and when

that happens we can thank ourselves for allowing this to be .

> I'm sure you will never really being able to know to what level your

efforts have extended. My guess is..... much much farther and deeper than

you might think!!! Please keep it coming as your time and energy allows.

Thank you ma'am. I have mellowed with age .. some men become grouchy old

farts but some of us start to realize what is really important in our lives

and spend more time in those areas. I am now more concerned about making

my cat stop crapping in my garden than I am about YL pushing " Rain Drop

Therapy " . ;-)

Long, long ago a group of ten of us formed a group that was dedicated to

exposing YL's shenanigans .. had some pros on it .. including a medical

doctor and some nurses .. and other scientists. We were a very passionate

group but in time we realized that we were simply peeing in the wind.

There was no system in place that would allow us to succeed through legal

channels. Sorta like the actions against the Texas polygamists group now.

> I was discouraged to See Martin Watt leave. He too has much to offer, and

would sure liked to have the time to discuss more indepth some of his

insights and meld them with my clinical practice. I know, though that I can

find him elsewhere.

I have been pushing the dude to come back but its like butting heads with a

goat. ;-) Someone wrote me saying they would like to see Martin and I

co-host a News Group. I told them that Martin and I had been close friends

for a lotta years and saw eye to eye on the basics and the goals but not on

the tactics or the strategy .. I said it would be like a Hannity & Colmes

broadcast. ;-) Truth is .. Martin is more knowledgeable than I am when it

comes to the scientific aspects of natural products .. and though he too is

tired of repeating himself .. he is still more passionate about what he does

than I am .. but we live different lifestyles and I don't have time for that

level of passion right now and though I am not tired of life in general, I

am tired of peeing into the wind..

> Many people here I'd like to acknowledge and honor for their efforts in

keeping this modality of AT honest and ethical. One is Marge Clark-

tireless effort!! Sorry; I'll have to stop there and this post would be

much too long.

Agree that Marge has done much .. knowledgeable she is and she has been

around the business for a lotta years .. and agree that a post thanking all

those who have done much for the industry would be a mighty long one

fer'shur.

> You know, I notice this more and more...the dumbing down of sooo much.

And fewer and fewer warriors willing and tenacious enough to provide the

light. The new saying seems to be " It's all good!! " Well, maybe so, but if

so, then....who is going to > work to make " it " better. " ???

I think the answer is .. somebody will do it .. but they too will tire in

time! I think that you are right about the dumbing down of general

information in this cottage industry .. and I think the reason is because of

the major societal changes going down in America today. There is a major

increase in thin skins and either high or low egos today .. and lots of new

folks come on these groups expecting to find a Sunday Social and such so

they get upset it you tell it like it is rather than how they would like to

hear it.

I also think that the " disaffection " factor I mentioned in my other post

prevents many of those who were warriors from doing battle as they did in

the past. Was a time that many of the members of this group spoke out on

many issues but that is pretty much history now. Though I know you were not

referring to those folks I will point out that those folks have not dumbed

down .. they have wised up .. they now accept that they were able to

accomplish much at one time but it wore off as new folks entered the groups

and those of us who were the old hands got tired of running the new troops

through another basic training cycle. Its kind of like cleaning up a two

year old after they eat their meal .. you gotta do it till they get a bit

older but when they no longer get more food on their clothing than they do

in their mouth you feel real good about not having to bother with the

cleaning up.

> I'm doing my part in this tiny little world of mine and encourage all

other who are in search of excellence, honor, integrity, knowledge and

truth!! Much thanks to our educational warriors, it is....a thankless job!

I salute you for your attitude .. really I do! There is no way to always

be gentle when dealing with misinformation and hype .. political correctness

is an expected norm today but I refuse to play that silly game. There is

no clean end one can use to pick up a turd. ;-)
