Guest guest
I work for a small oncology group at Highland Hospital of Rochester, NY. Five nurses (which equals more than half of our nurses in our tiny dept.) have taken and completed successfully Jane Buckle's course, Aromatherapy for Healthcare Professionals. We are trying to get an aromatherapy program into our hospital. Our instructor, Kathy Duffy, has been a rock to us. It is taking a great deal of time and energy to do this, however. One of our nurses has Oshadhi donating oil for a research project that we will all be participating in. Any advice on this subject would be great. Needless to say, this course has changed my life intensly, more than I ever dreamed of. I didn't even know what aromatherapy was when I decided to go ahead with it. Now, 2 yrs later, I am launching a series of seminars on Healthy Living, and have started a small line of products. I am starting small, and in my own community. I have the first two on June 13th and June 20th. I have spent a great deal of time working on it, more than I ever imagined that I would. It has been fun, distracting, and intense! The inspiration for the seminars was my mom, who just found out a few months ago she had stage 4 breast cancer. (She had stage 1 13 yrs ago, and stage 1 colon 11 yrs ago.) What a blow that was. Luckily?? It is Estrogen receptor + which means that with only a chemo pill, it can be kept form spreading for a long time. Now, this is where it gets controversial: (being an oncology nurse after all) I KNOW there are better things out there for cancer than chemo and meds/drugs. I believe there are cures out there that the " good old " FDA is supressing. I have heard of CO-Q-10 in high doses has been promising. But: where do you get top quality product? Is it safe to take with her chemo pill? (My mom wouldn't even think of taking this anyways, she is definitely a " Doctor-worshiper. " ) Any advice or comments on this subject would be great. Finally, I would love to have some insight on a black fly deterent. My husband is taking my oldest son on a packing/camping trip to the Adirondack's this weekend. I do make my own bug spray, but am hoping that I can make him something that I can ensure will keep the black flies at bay. I do not want him to resort to.......DEET!!!!!!!! (ugh!) Help! Greatly appreciate adivice on this subject! Lori V. - Marge Clark Monday, June 02, 2008 8:22 PM [sPAM] Re:Quality Essential Oils ?? It's the most exciting part of what we do...helping them get organized and going.
