Nathan and Fiordiligi - you will be richly rewarded! I have just burst out laughing at so many points reading this book I've lost count. Sometimes my jaw has just dropped open in amazement. Avery Gilbert is, I guarantee, the " next big scent expert who can talk to the masses. " The scope of this entertaining book is amazing, and his humor just crackles off each page. I mean, how often will you find reference to Cartman from South Park and President Cirac of France on the same page, for the same reason? What's a perfumer to do to avoid olfactive fatigue? How does a perfumer learn to smell the aromatics? Do you have to have a great sense of smell to be a perfumer? Can a cop really smell growing marijuana from outside a house? Do you realize there are vanilla, chocolate, jasmine and other scented butterflies? Why did Freud pay little attention to scent? I'll have my review up in a couple of days. This book is a must for the nose-governed. PS What do you think is the percentage of folks who are apathetic to fragrance? What percentage do you think he deems fragrance fanatics? Stay tuned! ;-) -- - perfumes, aromatics, classes, consultation
