Guest guest
[:-/] I am fairly new to the group. So far, I am enjoying being a part of it, and learning a great deal from some very knowlegible people! I used a bug spray last year, made with 10% Lemongrass essential oil, 2 oz. of grapeseed oil, and 2 oz. of witch hazel. It worked. Problem: I changed it, (I guess I am learning a lesson) in order to help with black flies. My new formula was the same additives as above, except I changed the essential oils: Here is what I did: I used 7% Lemongrass, 5% teatree, and 2% geranium. My poor son came home with over 90 mosquito and black fly bites from the adirondack mtns! I was so upset and embarassed. If anyone has any advice on what I should do, or on what I did wrong, I would greatly appreciate it!!! Thanks so much.

The most effective essential oil we have experienced for repelling black flies, mosquitoes, and even tse-tse flies (if you decide to send him on safari!) is Lemonscented Tea Tree Oil...leptospermon petersonii ... (NOT lemon and tea tree, as so many folks ask!).. http://www.naturesgift.com/skeeter.htm Over 12 years online supplying Aromatherapy and Healthcare Professionals Website: http://www.naturesgift.com Blog: http://naturesgiftaromatherapy.blogspot.com/
