Guest guest
I believe it is the oils of pennyroyal that can be harmful not a weak infusion that is usually used in flea preparations. Theoretically, tea for humans should not contain enough oils to be harmful, but I don't think I would risk it. Guest guest
Back sometime in the '80's there was a woman who took a whole lot of pennyroyal ... I have no idea how much or what methodology. She took it because a fair amount was said to cause abortion ... and she apparently wanted to achieve that. It killed her. Just because it's " natural " doesn't mean it can't do harm. Guest guest
IIRC there should be info on something similar to this in this list's archives--someone who'd thought pennyroyal was harmless and wound up ill due to consuming it. Do a search on our archives and you should find it--I've got a newer computer so I don't think I have the info saved even tho I know I saved it somewhere. Guest guest
I'll use a bit of it in a bandana with sage or something like that with a bit of citronella and cedar for my dog's neck but I do have a healhty respect for it. Had I know had kids at the time I would have planted that on my property as a natural critters that bite and itch repellant. e --- On Thu, 6/26/08, Serra <serrathescented wrote: > Serra <serrathescented > Re: Re: pennyroyal > > Thursday, June 26, 2008, 8:00 PM > IIRC there should be info on something similar to this in > this list's > archives--someone who'd thought pennyroyal was harmless > and wound up > ill due to consuming it. > > Do a search on our archives and you should find > it--I've got a newer > computer so I don't think I have the info saved even > tho I know I > saved it somewhere. > > HTH, > Serra > > > > On Thu, Jun 26, 2008 at 2:47 PM, edgetexlady > <rbright wrote: > > Back sometime in the '80's there was a woman > who took a whole lot of > > pennyroyal ...
