Guest guest
I even changed to individual message for this post so that I would not have to wait so long for an answer. Here's hoping someone is at their computer right this minute - I am trying to decant some mosquito repellent I just made from rosemary, catnip and grapeseed oil. Is it okay to put in just a bit of rubbing alcohol? I thought the whole mess was going to mold and I would like to use something as a preservative. Otherwise, the smell is not fabulous but okay when decanted away from the vegetation. Can I add Lemon scented tea tree oil to this mess? I do not want to wreck it as it was some spendy mess, ingredients being hard to come by here in Juneau and fourth of July with the mosquito and black fly picnic is coming up. Am sitting here this second waiting for your reply. Thanks Nanczee
Guest guest
Quite frankly I would have nixed the grapeseed totally (as it deteriorates rather quickly) and used straight alcohol. So the answer would be " yes " you can add some alcohol. Hope that helps K On 6/30/08, nanczee915 <nanczee915 wrote: > > I even changed to individual message for this post so that I would not > have to wait so long for an answer. Guest guest
I've nixed it too. There was too much misinformation about it initially. I've got some but I wont use it, its just a small amount so I will use that for my dog. Can't do much with a few ounces anyway and the whole rancidity thing has changed my mind about using it at all. I have heard in soap it can also go rancid after the soap has cured.....that I don't need. evie
