Guest guest
I have a son with this and a heart doctor near where his dad put him on Verapamil for lowering blood pressure. He has since came to live with me. Anyone know of a natural way to treat this disorder? He is 16. I also have another son that has ADHD and I'm afraid I'm going to be forced to put him on Ritilan or Aderol or some other horrid drug. Anyone know of a natural method? His homework is a bigger problem than sitting still but the medical field and school just want to fix it with medicine. It won't work, I know it. Guest guest
I'm might be in the minority here, but I wouldn't try to treat tachycardia in my child--naturally or otherwise--leave that to the doctors, they're not all bad. Tachycardia is nothing to fool around with and can lead to severe, life threatening complications. Verapamil does lower bp, but it will also slow the heart, which is why it was prescribed for your son. The biggest complaint with verapamil, as with other beta blockers is that it can cause fatigue. If you're not happy with verapamil, take him to a dr and ask about alternatives, other meds that might also keep his heart beat regulated, but please don't try treat this yourself. It's just not fair to your son, or his heart. Sorry, I just had to weigh in on this one. Best of luck to you and your two sons, whatever you decide. Guest guest
ditto. This is not one to be treated by herbalists or oils. You can ask his doc about good supplements to go WITH his medication but as for taking him off at the moment, I wouldn't do it. A lot of cardiologists suggest co Q 10 but never for a replacement, simply as an antioxidant and heart health in general. And if you take him off of is bp meds, he can have a very bad rebound effect meaning his heart rate might go thru the roof.........this sort of thing is best left to the doc and I agree with the poster, if this med is problematic, they can change it to something more agreeable for him. 16 huh? Yeah, the medical pros are his best bet . I'm notorious for going alternative but if I have a serious issue, take me to a hospital or a doctor not an herbalist. in time you can learn what's beneficial and discuss that with his doc. Good luck in finding him a med he can feel himself again . Evie
Guest guest
My daughter has ADHD and we will never put her on any conventional drugs. We first put her on an all natural thing called Attend by Vaxa, they are pills from a store here called Dietary Foods. It was helping, but after a couple of months we found a naturopathy doctor and have been taking her to see this doctor and the doctor did a history on my daughter and gave us a all natural remedy for my daughter along with some pro-biotics, and supplements. This is working better than the Attend. As far as the paroxysmal thing I never even heard of it..sorry. Try a healthy store to see if they know of a homeopathy doctor or naturopathy doctor or see if they can give you advice for all natural ADHD pills. Here's the link to the Attend... http://www.vaxa.com/636.cfm.
