Guest guest
Does anyone have a recipe for soap made with jewelweed? A friend gets Poison Ivy every year while he cuts grass. I told him if I could find a recipe I would make him some. I usually just make Olive Oil soaps, but I will try to help if I can. Guest guest
There are a couple of different ways to do it. First, you can put the jewelweed in a processor with just a bit of olive oil, and add that mush to melt and pour soap base. That works if you're in a hurry. Otherwise, you can infuse any of the oils you're going to use in the soap with jewelweed. You can also infuse jewelweed in water, and use that liquid to mix with the lye. Lastly, you can add slurry like that in the M & P version to the soap at trace. Go easy though, or it will mold in the cold processed or hot processed soap. For some reason, I've never had that problem with the M & P.
