Guest guest
Hi everyone, Recently I have received unsolicitated invitations to join other Groups, with the most recent one today. Today's invite is a bit similar to groups that I already to. Am I the only one receiving these invitations? Should I just delete the invitation? Any advice would be appreciated. Guest guest
I haven't gotten one recently, but every once in awhile someone will look like they're going thru lists and I'll get 2 or 3. Guest guest
Man thats one of those deals that you can get into an 'huh oh' situation but that said, some of us on a soap board were simply taken aback by this soapers creativity and we wanted to invite her to our board. What she did with soap and the amount of colors she used was mind boggling. We did invite her. So if you make cool stuff and got someone's attention like we did her, then it could be authentic. But.........you could just put that in the search bar and see what happens.....don't if you're not sure. I would NOT however answer thru my email if they posted a link......this way you see if they are legit and listed. would you mind naming the group? that way we can all have a heads up. i am on several soap boards and if its one I am on I can tell you if its legit. evie
Guest guest
I've seen others posting about it on other lists too so it's not just happening here. Paula ...... in Michigan www.farmfreshsoapsandcandles.com I haven't gotten one recently, but every once in awhile someone will look like they're going thru lists and I'll get 2 or 3. Guest guest
I have my settings so that I cannot receive such invitations. If I become aware of and am expecting an invitation to a specific group, I change the settings until such a time as that particular invitation has come through. Then I go back and change the settings once again. At one point it seemed like I was receiving at least one invitation a week. Guest guest
Hi Evie, This one is named Connectinglight_healing_group. I have the invite in my trash and will be deleting it. The other one I don't recall, other than it was regarding " tips on how to " , that one I did delete. On another group I was told this is a feature of to be able to invite other Members. As that member said, it would be nice if the moderators were asked if this would be OK, or something similar. My mind isn't working well right now. Thanks for responding. Guest guest
Havent heard of them. And it would be nice if they did put some info , the moderator, the idea of the group, how long they've been there or if new.......but you may be right in 'harvesting'......I'd delete them too. I know the ladies we are contacting to hopefully join our soapers groups we are identifying ourselves and why we'd like to have them join.......because we have seen some AWESOME designs that are blowing long time soapers away! We want to learn that too! Yep, when in doubt delete. I also delete forwards, once is a while I won't if I know the person but either copy and paste it or it gets deleted. Evie FYI, there is a soapers group on myspace, probably one for oils, perfumes, alternatives etc......that said, there has been a NASTY trojan applying to be your friend and if you so much as click on the profile to check.......you just got infected so be sure to run your antivirus if you've done that recently. In fact, use one of the free real time scans, they have a fix faster than those with a program installed.
