Guest guest
Well, I was giving an herb class this weekend during which I mentioned in passing that essential oils should not be applied directly to the skin. Afterward someone comes up to me and tells me that they have found a line of superior essential oils (I know this happens to many people), oh and that alll of them can be directly applied to the skin because they are non-toxic. I assumed she was talking about Young Living, but she said it was not. Has anyone heard of Youngevity Essential OIls or Ancient Legacy Essential Oils? Their website gives absolutely no information which for me is the tip off that something is wrong. Is this the same as Young Living or is it another just as bad. Guest guest
I am a relatively new Youngevity member - joined for some of their nutritional products. Although I am no expert on the company, here is my opinion. Dr. Wallach is a veterinarian who went on to become an MD practicing family medicine. Here is a quote from the website: " Dr. Wallach has been involved in Bio-medical research and treating animals and people for more than 40 years. Dr. Wallach and Youngevity have filed several Health Claim petitions with the FDA and obtained two Qualified Health Claims. This is an important fact since no other Network Marketing company has obtained even one Health Claim. There are only a handful of Authorized Health Claims, which have been fully vetted by the FDA process. " (These two claims were for the trace mineral selenium and EPA from Omega 3's, and once they are obtained are not specific to the company obtaining them - the info can be used by any company or individual.) As a veterinarian, he was involved in a study funded by the National Institutes of Health on animals and toxicity. He believed there was a correlation between the use of trace minerals and good health - hence the book and tape " Dead Doctors Don't Lie " . I believe Dr. Wallach has a true desire to help people. When he speaks, he often references studies to back up what he says. Some of the Youngevity products are included in the Physician's Desk Reference. So, just my opinion, I don't think there is any comparison between him and Gary Young.. As far as the essential oils, Youngevity has taken different companies under its parent umbrella; Ancient Legacy is one of them. My BELIEF (and this is just an opinion I have from things I have heard) is that some of the people trained by Gary Young might have migrated to Ancient Legacy and still believe what he taught. The company website lists the following in its description of " neat application " for essential oils: " Very seldom will you use essential oils undiluted or neat. On occasion I have used them neat on an insect bite, or a bee sting. My daughter has applied tea tree neat on a developing acne blemish with great results. Most often, you will receive good beneficial results by properly diluting your essential oil. " (I don't know who actually wrote this on behalf of Ancient Legacy.) There is info on the website about the oils - click on Ancient Legacy at the top. On the left-hand side, you can access each oil. On the right-hand side is info on kits, the EOBBD and methods of application. Personally, I haven't tried these oils yet - I'm perfectly satisfied with the oils I purchase from Butch and others. I have, however, heard some pretty impressive testimonies from people who have used them. Hope this sheds at least a little light.
