Guest guest
Cindy, have I told you lately that you ROCK??? you do! Thanks for the wonderful information of the Slippery Elm Root (Flowers) & Willow Bark..How could I use them to make soap with? I have a serious burn and wanted to make some adult boo boo soap...is this possible? I wish I had some infused in oil for times like this...What do you think of my idea? Thanks so much (hugs) Robin
Guest guest
Hi Robin- If you were going to use the beneficial properties of the herbs, I would infuse them in oil and then add that for some of the oils. For burns...nothing better than Comfrey, wheat germ oil and raw honey! But putting all of that in a soap, nah, I wouldn't because the properties are best when mixed and applied to the burn itself. All that the soap does is clean and while it may be gentle to the skin, the soap won't impart healing properties, as it gets washed off. So while I use herbs in my soap, the way that I market mine is to use the soap to cleanse the area gently or thoroughly first, and then follow with the specific balm/ointment/lotion to promote optimal healing. Just my 2 cents worth. And thanks for the complement! Cindy
