Guest guest
Hi. I take Echinacea and Golden Seal during this time of year to prevent colds. I've been told I can't consistently take this. How should this be taken? Also, my sister doesn't feel the Echinacea and Golden Seal doesn't work for her. She'd like to know if anyone has any other suggestions for something she can take to strengthen her immune system. If anyone makes any products like this she's interested in bartering for them. She makes hand-crafted jewelry with genuine stone and does other things. If interested contact her at severus13 and put immune system in the sub line. Thanks so much. Guest guest
cycle on and cycle off for one. For two, golden seal shouldnt be taken until silk. Its used as a natural antibiotic. If you are sick, then your immune system is down and you don't want to take echinacea then. There is a divided opinion on this. But with echinacea, you must cycle so your own immune system can function on its own. evie in SOME cases golden seal may cause high bp. Not all. and it should be taken as an antibiotic which means you have to take the recommended amount for 10 days and then stop.

Guest guest
I wouldn't take either of these on a regular basis, but I do take echinacea at the first sign of a cold. To keep your immune system strong eat whole foods especially those high in vitamin A and vitamin C. Mild to moderate exercise also helps the immune system. If you do get sick there are more treatments to use; for instance, gargle with sage or thyme tea, or just drink it, take garlic . . . Oh, btw, there are lots of other suggestions in my book; " The Antibiotic Alternative " . Guest guest
I would do 3 weeks on and 3 off, others have said 6 on and 6 off......but research that before you even decide to use my opinion.......there should be sites online that can tell you. I think on a search I might do one like echinacea+cycling and see what you get. if that doesnt work then 'how to use echinacea and be sure to check the resources. You definitely want someone with credentials. You might get that info from Christi at Tayloraromatherapy, she also has a line of products as well. evie
