Naming an Oil Blend

I was just wondering.... I buy an eo blend from a company that is

similar (or identical-who knows) to a well known other company. The eo

blend I bought they have named Valkyrie (yuck) which is similar to the

'other' company - Valor. Can I rename it to be Valour without it

being a copyright infringement or something? I've googled and googled

but am not getting any clearer about the naming process.

thanks for any input

Thats an issue I am facing. I do have a blend that I named after my grand

daughter, and it is an fo/eo blend.  Since it is a blend, I think I can name it

anything I want because as far as I can see, there isn't one like it.

I also want to do eo on the robbers blend, I can't call it that, I do have some

alternative resins and oils I think would actually make that base more effective

and wish to make soaps, liquid soaps, home made antibacterial spray and an oil

for diffusing . Since I will have their base but will add two  more eo's I think

technically I can call it whatever I want just as long as I do not make claims.

Are you going to do a same blend exactly?  Two ways this could go, one is people

who use that will know, many people are savy shoppers and read labels...so that

could go in your favor but.....the other companies can claim 'our blend is the

first and authentic product that other companies reproduce, why settle for

anything less than the first and the best?

That one is a dual edged sword. Unless you change something in that blend,

either adding to or substitution for one of the eo's......then I would think you

could call it what you wanted and might have an opportunity to have a 'stand

alone' product and naming it with a powerful name.
