Guest guest
Genevive 32 asked: Is there anyway to detox just the lungs? Or should a person detox the whole body? Genevive G, I am no expert on traditional , but one tidbit that I keep running into over and over is this: the Lung and Large Intestine are partner meridians. What you do to one affects the other. It seems to be so. When I overdo the dairy and forget to compensate with kick-ass enzymes and probiotics I get gassy AND I develop a cough. I have heard from other people too who had lung problems, and if you ask them how their digestion is you get an earful. Anyway, what do you have to lose by doing a mild all-over cleanse? Guest guest
Evie, Are you referring to the herbal Breathe Easy tea which states on the package that it " promotes respiratory health " ? If so, it says on the box that it is produced by Traditional Medicinals. They have a website. HTH! If anyone wants/needs more info - I have my (recently) emptied box of tea sitting in front of my monitor. Just ask. Linda Ludwick Selkie <earthmotheressentials wrote: >Argh! Guest guest
Yes Evie, I have a box of Breathe Easy herbal tea sitting in front of me right now. It is from Traditional Medicinals and they have a website. Some of the herbs in the tea are: Licorice root, Eucalyptus leaf, Bitter fennel fruit, organic Peppermint leaf, organic Calendula flower, Pleurisy root and a few other ingredients. The front of the package states that it " promotes respiratory health " . The side of the box states that the tea " promotes normal respiratory tract health by reducing mucus and helping to keep the nasal passages open " . HTH! I'm assuming that we're both referring to the same product here. ??? Linda Ludwick Selkie <earthmotheressentials wrote: > Argh! Guest guest
Breathe Easy is an herbal tea, used to be made by Traditional Medicine. Not exactly a detox/cleanser, but very helpful when having a cold and bronchial trouble. C-M

Guest guest
Breathe Easy is Ephedra AKA Ma Huang. It is a wonderful bronchial dilator, and much safer than a pure extract of ephedrine. Most of the adverse effects are linked to the extract, not the actual herb, and especially to wrong use of the extract. It has been abused as a weightloss drug and as a way to keep going all night at raves. Even so, Ephedra is a serious herb, and should ideally be used after checking with a naturopath or TCM. I used it once when I had pneumonia, though I didn't know that yet at that time. Breatheasy tea made me feel worse, because I was in a state of Yang depletion already. At least, I think that's what it was. Mullein might be a gentler choice. Ien in the Kootenays http://freegreenliving.com (blog)
Guest guest
Brigham tea is also in this class. As soon as I get a reply from my friend, I'll have that formula for lungs.....it is expensive . Drat, why can't i recall that one, I sold it for years! Breathe easy tea no longer contains ma huang. Ephedra when used in a minimal amount for short term usage until medical attention can be attained worked. It was not meant as an herb to use consistantly. My mom is an asthmatic as are two of my kids. In a pinch, the teas helped until I could get a script for albuterol. Herbs were not helping my child. A combo of nutrional supplements and western medicine did work more effectively. Unfortunatley you could get a OTC inhaler my father in law would use that was really scary. He had copd, smoke a smoke and hit that inhaler......I don't know if that is available anymore due to teens abuse. Lobelia used to be used but only those truly expericienced could formulate it and again, for emergencies only . They have left the particular herb out of the newer editions of 'Back to Eden'...... In a pinch, one could get a quickie pack of ephedra when on the road when one was fixing to have problems with an on coming attack. Thanks to those in the body building area, teens cooking it down and people finding how to extract ma huang, we no longer can get it. The diet industry was another at fault....in body building they make their own stackers...first thing they used was ephedra, this is where that particular product got its name. I wish I had a nickle for every diet aid I hated to sell with women asking me 'I want a diet pill to curb my appetite, burn fat and I won't have to do excercise and still build muscle'.............hey, if anybody finds that one...........CALL ME! Basically, those who could benefit from this herb cannot any longer due to gross abuse and the fact they made it stronger and sold it for other reasons. Any one knows that any diet pil loses effectiveness in less than 3 months and stresses the body, raises blood pressure and I personally know a lady who did phen fen as well as epehdra. She died . Her family won two suits ......that woman knew....we asked 'do you have high blood pressure?' and if yes refused to sell it. Her kids came an bought it and they got a lot of money suing for death of their mom who was a heart pt and on bp medication....... Yep, give a big around of applause to the idiots that make herbal therapies impossible. e --- On Mon, 9/29/08, Ieneke van Houten <ienvan wrote: Ieneke van Houten <ienvan Re: Re: Lung detoxing/cleansing Monday, September 29, 2008, 2:33 AM Breathe Easy is Ephedra AKA Ma Huang.
