Guest guest
Hello Angela, (Snipped) Question: has anyone heard of this company? http://www.doterraearth.com/ > It is another Multi Level Marketing Company .. out of Utah I believe .. but the two telephone numbers on that site are 615 .. that is Tennessee. It is clear on their web site that they are a MLM company http://www.doterraearth.com/index.php?option=com_content & view=section & layout=blo\ g & id=8 & Itemid=61 > Apparently a fairly new(?) company that is marketing 'therapeutic grade > essential oils' in a mlm-type format. > There is no such thing as " 100% pure Certified Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils " .. it is a marketing gimmick .. well .. marketing hype. Who conducts such certification .. and ... what is the definition of Therapeutic Grade. I'll tell you in advance that the last part of that question is a trick question. ;-) (Snipped) > (I had received an email invite from them to attend a seminar in > Denver: > They want you to join as an " Independent " Consultant .. it only costs $50. Note that in the first paragraph alone of their introduction at http://www.doterraearth.com/index.php?option=com_content & view=section & layout=blo\ g & id=8 & Itemid=61 they state 3 times that you will be an " Independent " Consultant .. meaning .. you are on your own and when/if the crap hits the fan .. they are clean. > " Dr. David Hill will present the latest science and education on > essential oils, and explain why they are critical to our health and > wellness. He will discuss why it is imperative that your essential oils are > > Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade. He will also be available for Q & A > during and after the event " - http://www.doterraoil.com/drhill.html) > First .. as a long time user and seller of Essential Oils I will say that they are NOT critical to our health and wellness .. that too is marketing hype. EO are great for alternative and/or complementary treatment of many minor illnesses and conditions .. physiological, psychological and/or emotional .. but they are not critical to our health and wellness. In May 2007 Hill was still with Young Living .. http://www.adogsview.com/2007/05/23/young-livings-dr-david-hill-on-the-martha-st\ ewart-show/ ... he must have left their flock and started his own MLM. He is not a medical doctor .. he is a Ph.D. (maybe a graduate of an accredited university) and was the main Young Living Carnival Barker and Raindrop Therapy Trainer for a long time .. somebody correct me if I've got the wrong feller. He made the mistake of coming on News Groups like this a few years back but he couldn't handle the pressure of being contradicted and proven to be a dummy and a con artist .. so he tucked his tail and ran away. > Thanks in advance. I do not do mlm (been there, done that), but > appreciate > information on those that are more or less reputable/selling a quality > product. > Welcome you are .. and since you don't do the MLM thing then this company is probably not your cuppa tea. For those who are not familiar with the operations of MLMs and want to be .. many of us can provide a number of links to better explain how they operate. My opinion is, if you have too many friends and they are constantly inviting you to this or that function ... or your family members visit too often, just sign up as an " Independent " Distributor or Consultant for an MLM and you will find that most of them will leave you alone. As for folks seeking quality oils for a fair price .. the List Mom does not run this list because she has a Mother Theresa complex .. or is bored .. and me and other folks who write on her often are not doing it because we have nothing else to do .. we are sellers of quality oils for a fair price .. if it were not so then we would not be listed as approved Business Links at http://health./links ;-) > Love and light, Angela > www.boulderhealers.com > Boulder Healing Arts Association > Y'all have a good one .. and keep smiling. :-) Butch .. http://www.AV-AT.com <http://www.av-at.com/> .. Wholesale/Retail GC Tested EO, Tested Hydrosols and Rose Products, Carrier Oils and other nice things shipped to you from our warehouse/store in Downtown Friendsville, MD ... pop:

Thought I recognized the name..... The part that gets me, is this " certified " and certification, etc....... Last I checked...the was no recognized certification for either an EO or an AT practitioner....not as far as the Gov't and other folks who run such things recognised.... I think there's some schools out there that give a cert, but that means ya paid the tuition and maybe took the tests..... Heck....I'm an Ordained Minister of the Universal Life Church, too....
