Guest guest
does your soap ever get moldy? i made some & shrunk wrapped it & when i went to mail it it had gotten moldy - not good for my business!! i am an aormatherapist & have just started doing soap, so am just a beginner. i grease my mold - if i don't i cannot get it out. could that be why it got moldy? do you have to leave it in the air for a certain amount of time before packaging it? do i need to wipe the grease off of it? whatever help you could give i would appreciate
Guest guest
Sure, I'd love to help, but I need to know what sort of soap you made, and what recipe you used to make it, plus what ever else was added (essential oils, herbs, liquid additives, things like that). Guest guest
You really do need to allow the soap to cure for a couple of weeks before you wrap it in an airtight wrapping. Try lining your molds with plastic wrap or freezer wrap if it's a big mold, or if using individual molds, you need to let the soaps sit in the molds for a couple of weeks until enough water has evaporated, and the soaps fall out. If you include big chunks of botanicals (say, for instance, whole chamomile flowers), they will mold in soap.
