Guest guest
... doing lots of things! I'm wondering, what are your autumn season (or spring for those here on the flip side of the world) projects? Canning? Freezing? Art projects? Garden projects? Herbal tincturing? Etc ... *Smile* Chris (list mom - preparing to make some echinacea and goldenseal root tinctures today.) http://alittleolfactory.blogspot.com
Guest guest
I was just going over my plan to make assorted mustards for the first time. I'm planning one with beer and caraway seeds, another with white wine and herbs, and one just plain if I can control myself. As always, I'll be making my " famous " snack mix, but this year with even more emphasis on whole grain ingredients, still with mostly olive oil and just enough butter for a bit of flavor. I also want to experiment with making shortbread with a couple different imported butters, just to see if they're really all that. I keep a binder full of my favorite holiday recipes, and I regret that I can't make them all! I do a lot of spiced nuts, both sweet and savory, cookies, some great popcorn treats, and more. I'm really into food. But, I also love to whip up aromatic gifts. I make a nice liquid milk bath, bath salts, misters, roll-ons, massage oils, wonderful cleaning products, and I have plans for pain-relieving lotion for all my achy ol' friends and rellies. Wishing you well, Mary Sahs, ND www.marysnatural.com <http://www.marysnatural.com/>
Guest guest
Afternoon all, OK, I've just had my roof painted - white again. This is because I'me going to put on solar hot-water heating. There is a newish style which uses 'evacuated' tubes and is more efficient.  I've just said 'farewell' to a salesman talking about putting in an efficient guttering system - I haven't had guttering for years and this looked the best for my conditions.  3rd job is either rainwater tanks or putting up the hotwater heating.  Those are the big ticket items.  For the rest it is putting in vege gardens and trees which give me fruit. It will be a lilly pilly tree and a peach/plum/apple tree followed by a lilly pilly.  All this gardening entails vast amounts of mulching for which I have a plant shredder, lots of digging, for which I have feet and hands and lots of plants which comes out of my compost bin.  Its going to be a busy spring and summer!  Too all the USA members hope you get the President you wanted. For those who didn't, well, you always have a chance in 4 years time to make a change.  Regards Merinda  Don't burn your bridges until you have built a pontoon Search 1000's of available singles in your area at the new 7 Dating. Guest guest
Well, as today is Nov. 4th, and I live in good ol' Texas USA, I'm going to vote.and urge everyone who hasn't done so, and live in this country, do so! Also, as I am an IKE survivor, I'm overseeing roof and carport renovations this week. I'm infusing hops into some olive oil for a beer soap. I'm infusing rue, lavender, thyme and rosemary into organic vinegar for some " Four Thieves Vinegar " I just received some lovely flavoring oils for making some new lip balms this week (black cherry, vanilla, and chocolate) Just finished picking the last oranges/ tangerines from one of our heavily laden trees. Waiting on the other tree, as they are still green. Getting hubby ready for deer hunting next weekend. That includes making sure I have the bags for vacuum packing when he brings one home ( I hope). Getting ready to make more Fall/Winter soaps. Gee.I am busy!! Anita
Guest guest
That all sounds awesome Mary. Please, keep us posted on the findings of the shortbread butter experiment. Would you be so kind as to give some more details on how one goes about making mustard. I'd love to try that and compare results! *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://alittleolfactory.blogspot.com , " Mary Sahs " <marysahs wrote: > > I was just going over my plan to make assorted mustards for the first time. > I'm planning one with beer and caraway seeds, another with white wine and > herbs, and one just plain if I can control myself.
