Guest guest
>>>Have any of you ever dealt with *Morgellons Disease*? Ideas in how to treat someone who has been diagnosed with it?>> Hi Sandi, First, I want to know where you found a Dr that would even acknowledge it's existence, much less diagnose someone with it! Our medical community has me scratching my head most of the time. I have a little almost 90 YO woman that suffers from this. She has tried everything that the dermatologist recommended and has tried to follow what her reg. Dr says too.....tho he has only prescribed Xanax, doxepin and Haldol! I totally understand the Doxepin....hubby is on 100mg for his Epstein Barr induced hives and it does help with the itching, poor Myrtle was only on 10mg and couldn't get out of bed I printed out some of the info that is either on the www.morgellons.org site or it is linked from there. OK State Univ is studying it.....and that is in Tulsa, only about 30 minutes away. When I handed the Dermatologist the info about it, he barely glanced at it and told me he though those folks were crazy. I suppose since he doesn't know much about it, it makes it easier for him to roll his eyes and call folks names eh? At any rate, the only thing we have found to help her is Emu with Bulgarian Lavender, Lemon Tea Tree and Butch's Oregano. It sure seemed like once I added the Oregano, it really helped keep the outbreaks from even occurring. I've been keeping pics of her progress and compared to what it looked like when she was using all of the steroid cremes etc, it's amazing! I've contacted the OSU folks as well and gave them the scoop too. On her last Derm appt, we told the nurse what she had been using and what she hadn't (his chemical laden cremes), so this info was relayed to the Dr before he even came into the room. He was shocked to say the least that what we were using was working. He said that it wasn't important what we had used, just keep doing what we were doing. Can you spell EGO?? LOL She has another appt today, will be interested in hearing what he had to say. He told her the scars wouldn't go away for at least 6 months. I told Myrtle that I disagreed with him and that if she would use the Emu mix several times a day, I could see the scars getting better in half the time. Good Luck, this is a tough one indeed!
