Around half the meat we ate when I was growing up was wild meat. Now,

around 80% of the meat and fish my family eats is wild.

Not yet .. I went out but twice during the black powder muzzle loader season

(now closed) and got a 4 pointer and a 7 pointer. After prime cuts I

turned the remainder of the first deer into ground meat and the remainder of

the second into OUTSTANDING Summer Sausage .. had it for breakfast again

today .. larpin' gud it is! The 7 pointer was a big one .. got 42 pounds

of sausage from him. Rifle season opens the last Saturday of this month ..

I'll go again then. Though we can take 3 bucks per season and 3 doe per day

during the season I will not take another buck unless its a trophy .. and

that one would certainly go mainly for jerky (we have a dehydrator) .. and

I'll take one .. maybe two doe. We do love venison a lot and its far

more healthy than the store bought meats. We have an extremely large deer

population this year .. too many in fact. If they are not harvested there

will certainly be disease and such next year.

I will have Alexander retrieving for me by the time he is 4 years old .. and

also teaching him safe hunting and respect for nature and game laws early

on. Like probably next year.

Yep .. that I have .. but never again. We have more deer than people here

in Henry County .. and more wild turkey than we have deer.

Wild turkey requires a special kind of preparation .. they can be tough or

tender depending on how they are prepared.

Sounds like my cat, Shadow, when he gets tired of playing with my dog,

Hunter. ;-)

Record your score .. then later have a glass of wine and record it again.

Just one drink slows down reaction time more than most folks realize.

That's probably why some doctors don't drink before they operate and some

pilots don't drink before they fly. ;-)

PS: My oldest son (a confused Liberal who likes to yank my chain) said he

was gonna have a traditional Thanksgiving this year. Said he was gonna

invite the neighbors over for chow .. then shoot them and take their land.

;-)

ROFLMAO!!!

I've got a confused Republican. Like your son, she likes to yank my chain. I

think that's the only reason she's a conservative! fortunately the other

three seem to be " right thinkers " ;-) I don't think I could deal with more

than one at a time. Hopefully she'll out grow it when she's older. Right now

she's hell bent on going into the Army when she get's older. Like I said,

yanking on old mamma's chain. Remember, Mamma is an Airforce brat... what's

WRO " NG with the flippin' AIRFORCE... nope, want's to go into the Army.

>sigh< Not until she finishes college she doesn't!!!!
