Guest guest
Yes, oregano EO (I make a nice throat spray), and many others. eucalyptus, peppermint, ravensara, nutmeg, sandalwood, etc. I have the full range of cell salts, and a good supply of MMS (not MSM, though I have some of that, too). Many herbal teas in the cupboard, too, and some fresh spices on hand: cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger to keep me warm. And all the Bach Flower Remedies. Epsom salts and baking soda for therapeutic baths with EOs. Rice pillow for heating chest and upper back, or just for keeping my lap warm when the cat's busy elsewhere. Neti pot with warm water & sea salt. Guest guest
Besides Oregano-- Lavender, Helicrysum, and Peppermint oils. Eucalyptus. Those are the ones I most often reach for! I've got a " sore/tired muscle blend " with calendula and st. john's wort oils with black pepper, lavendin, black spruce, touch of marjoram and helicrysum that I REALLY LOVE. Nothing dramatic-- I just rub it in, and some not-too-long time later I notice that whatever I used it for really feels better. Back to lurking! Guest guest
This is a good reminder to keep all my 'medicinals' in one place! I am wondering Michele, what would be in an anti-itch balm. I don't itch much, but when I do, wow. My staples would include lavender eo, eucalyptus eo, thyme/echinacea/elderberry tincture, thyme honey and sage for tea. OK, maybe comfrey distillate for burns and minor ouies and some calendula balm too. Guest guest
Cindy, my friend swears by yucca, calendula and a clay. I did a soap (rebatch) with tea I made with distilled water, yucca powder, calendula, clay, and baby oats and castor and a little pine tar, rosemary and just a smidge of tea tree and a little calamine lotion. I had enough of the liquid left that I simply made him a rinse with and he said after he bathed , before he got out of the tub, he took that tea and poured it over his head and rubbed that into his body and then got out and dried off. He did have to shake it and I did have to use a presevative because he wanted that tea in gallon jugs. I also did a liquid soap with most of that in there and he had decent results with all of it. might be worth a shot to do a combo like that. I have a recipe for a pine tar m & p but I think pretty much your hydrosols would come in pretty handy . I know I did a butter for him with rosemary/mint and tea tree and he said that knocked the itch right off the bat. All I have to figure out is how to make it smell better without messing up a good thing. evie
