Guest guest
Someone asked me how it's done when I posted on Facebook that I'm making a phyllo dough pie crust for tomorrow. Pretty darn easy - just unwrap it carefully, and a few layers at a time, place it in a pie plate, brushing with butter. when you think you have enuf layers, put in your filling. Then repeat with the layers on top, butter, etc. Fold the bottom layer excess that is hanging over the side of the pie plate over the top layer, maybe trimming the top layer into a " round " with scissors if you think it's too thick. Poke holes in the top just like a regular crust, brush with butter, etc. This works well with savory filling, too like spanakopita. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! -- Sincerely, Anya - perfumes, aromatics, classes, consultation 1600+ member Natural Perfumery group -
Guest guest
Yummm! Thanks for sharing Anya! I saw another little crust idea in a magazine that I thought I'd mention, since they look like they'd be great for making little leftover pot pies .. Ya take a slice of bread, roll it out flat with a rolling pin, cut it round with a large biscuit cutter and then fit in a muffin cup and viola, mini pot pie crust! *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://alittleolfactory.blogspot.com , Perfumes <anya wrote: > > Someone asked me how it's done when I posted on Facebook that I'm making > a phyllo dough pie crust for tomorrow. > > Pretty darn easy - just unwrap it carefully, and a few layers at a time, > place it in a pie plate, brushing with butter. when you think you have > enuf layers, put in your filling.
