I am SO totally not a conspiracy theorist, but on this topic, there is something very wrong going on here and it'll never stop as long as people are willing to leave their health in the hands of others that have been either simply educated by or become a full fledged part of this money/power hungry machine of western style pharmaceutical medicine. *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://alittleolfac tory.blogspot. com , Selkie <earthmotheressenti als wrote: > > And another reason I have chosen to object to some of the new 'cutting edge' of medications that are also used for 'off label' treatments. I can tell you first hand how percentages of sales of medications designed for a condition are also being used for other conditions and I ended up in an ER because I was given an antipsychotic for 'sleep'. I did not sleep . I hallucinated to the point my husband who works at our ER had to take me for a heavy sedation because of one of those drugs. > > I now have a doctor I finally brown bagged my medications and dumped them out on the table and asked him 'do you see a problem here? '.......he no longer sees me and I now take 4 medications in stead of 14. > > Blood pressure > Blood Sugar > Diuretic > 1 pain med. > > and I can think again. Guest guest
Evie, Funny you should mention Lyrica--I have two pain conditions involving nerve pain and I was placed on Lyrica (with two months' samples). Within a week I was so ill I tapered myself off the drug, gave the samples to someone who benefitted from Lyrica (she also had a nerve problem but less severe than mine and her doctor prescribed Lyrica for her. It worked for her but was so expensive that once he cut off her samples she couldn't afford it) and told my doctor about the side effects I had, so severe that I practically crawled out of a public bathroom after dealing with them for over an hour--I know, embarrassing, right? VERY much so--NVD was very embarrassing. Anyone whose doctor seems to just pull Lyrica from his backside? Be very cautious with the medication and make certain you're starting very slowly.
