Absorption ** And ** Proper Subject Lines on Posts

Howdy y'all,

 

Questions arising on this again .. is been discussed on this and

other News Groups ever since I've been in this industry and I doubt

if it will ever go away because some folks depend on the hype of

absorption as a tool for their marketing.

 

If one goes into the list Archive they will probably find hundreds of

posts on this subject .. a few I have written follow. Some of them

go beyond absorption but the info still might be of some value .. and

I would recommend you read them oldest first ..

It is very easy to find a lot of information on this or that subject

in the list Archive .. just go to the main page

Then click on Messages .. in the left hand column. That takes you

to a page where .. at the bottom .. you will see Search .. and beside

it is Advanced .. click on that.

 

Then in the Author block type in the name of some person who posts a

good bit on this list .. like Butch Owen or Chris Ziegler or Marge

Clark or Marcia Elston or Martin Watt .. or whoever.

 

In the Subject block type in what you are seeking .. in this case ..

Absorption .. and in the Message Body block use your noggin and some

imagination .. you might have to use that for the Subject block too

because you might not hit pay dirt with the first try .. but keep it

up and eventually you will find what you want.

 

There is a big exception here .. that is .. those folks who write

posts that have Subject lines like .. " I Have A Question " or some

other impossible file line .. their posts may never be found. That

is why the List Mom approved the following post some time back.

 

Go to Files .. in the left hand corner of the main page .. click it.

Then click the first thing on that list that comes up .. it is AA -

List Rules.. then click the third one down on the link that pops

up .. it reads .. Netiquette Policy on Subject Lines .. then read it.

 

We conducted an unofficial poll with a margin of error of far less

than those polls we got tired of seeing prior to the Presidential

elections .. and we found that few people would go to the bother of

following the instructions I have given here .. and that folks will

continue to send posts with Subject lines like .. I Have a Question "

or " I Need Your Opinion " or some other subject that could apply to

anything at all.

 

Now we will see how accurate that unofficial poll was. ;-)
