Guest guest
The FDA declared Stevia safe for food and drugs on Wednesday. Guest guest
Yeah, I posted a comment on that on my journal. The ONLY reason the FDA is getting behind it NOW is because Coca Cola is putting Truvia on the market. They're acting like it's some new thing that's never been heard of before. 'Truvia' is Stevia with erythritol and " natural flavors " added. Another circumstance that shows just how bought the FDA truly is. I'm wondering if the " natural flavors " are corn syrup derivatives, or MSG? It made me so angry I could spit nails. All this time people have tried to get Stevia on the market, and because one 'BIG DOG' wants to sell it, they go along without a peep! Guest guest
About time! Mainly because Coca Cola and other soft drinks giants are chomping at the bit to get in on Stevia.

Guest guest
Am I the only one who has been buying Stevia at the health food store for years? It even comes in little envelopes like other sweeteners. I don't actually like it much though. I prefer raw sugar, honey, maple sugar, agave syrup, cut sugar in half in whole grain muffins by using fruit juice for my liquid, etc. I think if people are going to drink diet Coke, at least Stevia doesn't have the damaging history that aspartame has! So far, anyway... I don't drink soda anymore at all, except once in a blue moon with pizza. If I want something sparkly in the summer, I mix half fruit juice and half sparkling water... it's good, lighter than the juice alone. Guest guest
Well, hubby and I have been using it now for about 8 years and we are both fit as can be. Guess the government finally should be praised somewhere. Now, if we can only get them to start putting it in some foods rather than that nasty stuff they make Equal from.
