Guest guest
Cool! That is not an easy language. I could pick up languages very easily as a kid, I lived across from Ft. Carson. My grand dad spoke, read and wrote in Japanese. I have problems with 'tonal' languages.....If I cant hear consenants and vowels.....I'm lost........which is why I still can't get that 'Ngo' name said properly. My friends amercanized their last name to 'long'. The Phillipino language wasn't bad, cherokee is easy if you keep practice, but viet namese and Chinese I cannot get. Did you use Rosetta stone? I used to hang out at the Olympic center and wanted to be a translator and linguist. now all I recall is enough to get my butt kicked in about 6 languages LOL. I'm trying to learn Irish. I can spell it but pronunciation is not easy. The irish perfer you say 'irish language' in stead of celtic language. those from wales and scotland and cornwall are in the gaelic realm but just remember when speaking with them to say 'do you speak welsh ' or 'scottish'..... How my maiden name which has many variations brannaugh, branach, brennagh , ban branaug beats me.......its Walsh. Third most common name in Ireland......thus my ongoing genealogy........ chinese huh? Hope the rest of the country can speak mandarin LOL! evie --- On Sun, 12/21/08, FeatherGoRightly <FeatherGoRightly wrote: FeatherGoRightly <FeatherGoRightly Re: OT: I got an A! Guest guest
O!!!! YIPPPEEEE!!! YEA!!!!! Good on you, Chris. This is fantastic. It is not an easy language to learn. So happy for you. My daughter in law speaks it, as well as several other languages. She offered to teach me. she tried, and after a few days very lovingly said that maybe I would like to learn a language that was not so difficult, like maybe french or spanish. I apparentaly said some rather unpolite things. And never knew the difference.
