Guest guest
If you want to test for diabetes, buy the blood meter and strips and test the blood bdfore eating in the morning, and about 5 oclock and do not eat from three to 5.keep a log of it. Not so much to give to the Dr. but to help you figure out how to adjust your food and eating. I am not telling you to do this, but I get it that you are not interested in the whole diabetes cash cow stuff. With all the money being for all the strips at $1.00 each. Imagine that. It is a huge money make, with more coming on by the day. I am not going to say where I saw it but I did see the strips for $26.00 for 50 of them, I guess others saw it also and now they are $48.00 for 50 strips, at this store. I actually have no idea if the $26.00 was an error on the part of the store or if they got the word from the supplier that it was not ok to sell lower that everyone. Protect the profits. If you have a Kaiser in Arizona check with them and see if they are giving the diabetes Nutrition classes. You can lower your blood sugar within 10 or 15 min. standing in one place with a chair in front of you. I have taken 8 classes, and they did it in 15 min and some of the people in the class reduced their sug some 50 some odd points. Very good class with James Burke. white bread is the big no no, do not even eat a hot dog with a bun, the bun will get your sug up. Low portions of potatoes, pasta and anything else like it. Loads of info on the internet. If you wait for a Dr to get to your potential diabetes, have a A1C test which is a blood test that shows the past 3 mo. average.( I hope I am right.) close anyway.) I will send some site email addresses laterr today, I have a group home and a lot has to be done. sharon I forgot, drink water I drink 3 quarts a day. Ice water is good ever so often. One breakfast I have is an omlet made with a lot of spinah and egg beaters. another one is Cottage cheese is excellent diabetic food. 1/2 cup is 15 gm of protein, usually I put pineapple pieces in pineapple juice, or tomatoes with it. I sometimes eat this for breakfast. the less bread the better for me. **************New year...new news. Be the first to know what is making headlines.
