Guest guest
I just want to warn everyone not to respond to Purity's TV ad for their intro offer and you just pay shipping. They send you the intro plus another whole order($119) from their automatic reordering scheme. I called and cancelled and sent everything back (at my expense) the first week of November. Last week I noticed a debit to my account for $119 and emailed them last Friday. Below is my correspondence with this company. It is now almost seven on Tuesday night and I still have not heard from you! I just received your product via UPS and called and talked to Nancy. She just cancelled my account???? I called and cancelled in the beginning of November, mailed back your product with a note on November 5th and you received it Novemnber 17, 2008 at 9:43 a.m. Nancy informed me that I have to find an UPS office and send it back as an " Unauthorized package " and I will not get my money back which I did not authorize for seven to ten days!!!!! What if I was poor and really needed that money? Why do you get to use my money for two weeks when it was not authorized? I need my money NOW!!!! I am on the Internet a lot and belong to a lot of groups and I am spreading the word about this whole ordeal and warn everyone not to respond to your TV ad. You guys are crazy and very disorganized and you want people to use your products?! Account under: Donald Kennedy Visa used: Karen W Poore All email history below: This is Monday and I have not seen a credit for my money in my checking account yet! What is the problem? Karen W Poore Hi, I sent you two emails and you have not assoicated the other email to me. I will paste the other email below. My shipping address is: 7633 Marble Ridge Dr.. You charged my account: Karen W Poore and you are sending flyers to Donald Kennedy. Here is my other email: I just left you a voice message! You have debited my checking account without my consent! This is illegal. I responded to your TV ad and you assoicated my call with Donald J. Kennedy the home owner. We spoke on the phone after I emailed you that it was my credit card, you sent me the intro order and a full order which upset me very much. I called and cancelled the entire order and sent everything back including the intro products of which I have validation. NOW YOU ARE DEBITING MY CHECKING ACCOUNT ($119.00) FOR A MONTHLY ORDER!!!!! CREDIT MY ACCOUNT RIGHT AWAY! You guys are sending me catalogs too like I was happy with you guys. Take me off! I am pretty upset. Guest guest
Have you considered contacting your local TV station/s about this? Sometimes you can get immediate action that way and notify the community about the company's practices at the same time! Just a thought. Guest guest
Contact your local bank and if you are using credit cards/debit cards - change your card number NOW. Report it to your bank NOW and state that you are having money taken out of your account without your authorization, most banks will credit your account temporarily while the investigation is going on. The reason to change your card number is so that they can't take money out of the account. Never do a check or even a check by phone to order anything. It is harder to change your bank account. Document everything, contact your local Better Business Bureau and spread the word about the company. I learned the hard way. Finally after 3 years, I am getting my money back and even the overdraft fees back that was caused by the the authorized users. There was alot almost $500 worth of overdraft fees. Guest guest
Hello, We had this same thing happen ordering NuWave Ovens for all our children. Only problem - it was a debit card!!! The " real " website was hijacked and we ended up giving our card information to a false company. Their downfall (which was a cover-up) was to give " Customer Support " phone number for the actual Hearth Company (stupid). The original company blew us off 7 times with " we have no such order - try again " before calling me back and asking me , " What is going on? " ... thank heavens! Well, we were on thew phone and internet together 2.5 hours and pinpointed the problem - we also had trouble because they can reuse your credit card over and over. We had to cancel the card, and it was very difficult and stressful because we have auto bill pay and paperless monthly bills. It has been a mess. Here is what we did: The bank hot-carded the debit/credit card. The bank manager offered to freeze our account (we used cash for a while). We opened a second account and use it. The bank manager is able to forgive any or all OD Charges - just go in and explain what happened. They are very kind at most banks and explained to me this happens a lot more than not. We had all our OD charges forgiven (almost 400.00 worth), the money returned, and got a " sorry for the trouble " deal from Hearth (NuWave maker) as an apology for the trouble. I know what you are going through, and hang in there. I, so I didn't get sick, explained it to myself this way: This is an excellent life-lesson I can pass down and warn my children about (online purchases AND using debit/credit cards which do not all have the same security as a credit card does). If I can protect my 5 children from having this happen to them, I would gladly have accepted the life trial. That was the best I could do, but " for me " it worked, and who knows how many others I have run into and warned that is protected :0) Dee , " kpoore2001 " <kpoore2001 wrote: > > I just want to warn everyone not to respond to Purity's TV ad for > their intro offer and you just pay shipping.
