Guest guest
... and this pertains to anyone who makes anything for kids, soap, toys, clothes, quilted blankets, etc .. I was wondering if with these new CPSIA act rules taking effect in February .. what are you planning on doing with your kids product line? Will you scrap it, rename it and market it not towards kids, will you pay the fees for compliance testing, ignore the rules and take your chances flying under the radar, other ... ? I'm really curious, cause it seems just what we don't need in this economy is more people being impacted negatively in any way biz wise or being run out of business because of legislation that was not thought through. *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com
Guest guest
Does anyone know where to check the voting record on this, I would hate to slam my local representatives if they voted against this. I intend to email and/or call them today about this and voice my disapproval for this bill. I have knitted baby items for years and never had a problem, and was so impressed with myself when I learned to crochet a baby hat and scarf last month.........., I also bead baby bracelets, and nursing bracelets for shower gifts. This is a classic symptom of society today, we are all so focused on the war etc, that the little stuff like this gets ignored by the general public and so it gets pushed through with little fanfare. Thanks for bringing this to our attention, I intend to take this to our local craft shop and we will post a notice about this. Guest guest
Alison, we'll have government links and suggestions for action within the next week or so. Volunteers to help track down this info would help. One of our coordinators probably has it, but we're busy writing up the plan. We're all woefully deficient on this info, I'll admit. The artisans at Etsy are up in arms about this, they're going to be joining us according to one of our volunteers. Guest guest
I think for me, I will continue making the products as they can be for anyone really. I will just put on my site that the product is mild, gentle etc... things that Mom's look for in a baby product. I certainly am not going to stop making products that are appropriate for babies or young children. I will have to be creative about the new line I'm working on specifically for little girls. Not sure how I'll handle that yet. I am curious and anxious though to see how this will really unfold.
