Guest guest
Hi Folks~ I too am still around. Yesterday Kathleen I went to check my Rose, Sandalwood and Helichrysum. All was good however I did decide I need to use them or lose them.
Guest guest
I did that too! Stashed oils. And so far what I've blended surprised ME.......man......after working with run of the mill eo's like rosemary or clove etc thats not been much of a 'teacher but very useful and will remain so' . Then of course I do have my 'Bath and Body Works' customers and you know, you have to compromise sometimes tho I would rather use natural only but econimically I'm not there yet. I can choose the lesser of evils and find pthalate free eo/fo blends.....an inferior eo enhanced with an fo. So in that, at least blending has been a great learning lesson. That said. What I was proud of before and what I was able to do because of the quality of oils I recently received and purchased......oh how it pales.......I've been 'bitten by the bug' and eyeballing sales, specials, garage sales etc LOL. After I saw that by simply keeping those oils I could let them ruin I thought 'the point in doing this to begin with was to formulate a special blend' .........duh....and what I needed and never expected ,showed up and as it turns out.....never in a million years would I have purchased rose oil. I've had too much exposure to synthetic rose oils and they frankly make me nauseaus. Not in this case. I could not believe the transformation this took in a blend of bases I take for granted......a whole new level. So........I intend to continue to purchase a few mls here and there and use them. Once I find that 'final ' note, then I'll release it. The whole alchemy part of it is addictive. I put in the rose oil hoping I hadn't ruined anything, walked away for a few hours, came back, rubbed a bit on my hands......and OH MY HEAVENS....... I wet my hands and rubbed them off in my hair , on my jammies and took an eensy amount and did the 'little dab' and once that hit my body chemistry, the release left me astonished. I will wear what I have blended thus far tomorrow as it is symbolic and for a very special and what I hope to be a good outcome . I can't help but believe whichever way it plays out, if this is what it took to turn my attentions more towards truly an ' elite' palette, then so be it. This began with a purpose and it remains so. Once I finish this blend I fully intend to release it. I am certain it will be another year at least....in the meantime I can continue to simply learn what you all have to offer . Anything less would have been inappropriate and I didn't realize that till recently. who would have ever thought I would have enjoyed the scent of rose not on the stem. That ingredient completely changed the entire blend . I think in some ways I'm fortunate since in some ways this is my 'first' for some things , and I will revel in every single moment. Oh yes, do use it your oils! I feel like that about quilts too. Many people keep them in a zipper bag, not me. They were made to be used and thats an indulgence as well. If it tears, then the patch I make simply adds more history to it. Good grief, I'm getting carried away here. My I will sign off and go sniff my fingers LOL! evie
