Guest guest
I am looking for essential oils or others natural remedies for oily hair. I already use vinegar for staticy hair, with a few drops of tea tree, rosemary and lavender- I am thinking of trying peppermint. I also add lemon juice to this mixture. I wash my hair with shampoo and then rinse with the vinegar mixture. The only problem is, My hair is very oily when I wake up, I can't leave the house without taking a shower. I also get split ends though, so my hair is oily on the scalp and dry on the ends. Soooooo if anyone has ideas or have tried something that has worked, PLEASE let me know. Thanks, Cheyanne
Guest guest
oh man I soooooooooooooooooo remember those days.....I'm a grandmother now but I had very greasy hair. I used ot have nightmares about it after high school. I made a soap not long ago for my friends daughter who likes to use black soap on her face. We played around with it and some rebatch and then did a liquid but I also gave her a bar of melt and pour I initially made for shaving......kaolin clay , non alcohol witch hazel and I think rosemary/mint/lime and it helped. I think the clay helped pull out the oil and maybe detoxified her hair folicles and she said it helped. She was in a hurry and just used it on her face and in her hair....might be something in that you could add to your blend......that said, if you use too many drying agents you might actually kick that into overdrive.....my dermatologist told me when you over dry your skin, it sends a message to the brain 'hey, we need oil here'........but I also found out I had a hormone imbalance. Whens that last time you had a good check up and some lab work? Ultimately I began to get acne to the point that alternative measures weren't even approaching and went on accutane. It did slow the acne , I needed another round but that stuff is wicked and I didn't do it.....by it did stop from the age of 27 on that greasy hair. Thank goodness I don't have that hair anymore.....wish the face had taken tho! That said, I'm fixing to try taking saw palmetto orally. I am NOT suggesting you do that. I know what my hormone level is at and I have an elevated testosterone, totally off balance hormones and I think they are trying that on women with PCOS or high male hormones t supress it....if thats the case I'll let ya know in about 6 months LOL. Worth a try tho. I really like the non alcohol witch hazel and clay together for a facial bar, since i make most of my bars to also wash hair, might try it. evie
Guest guest
Hi Cheyanne, You could try adding a few drops of patchouli to your vinegar rinse. I use it for my acne soap to reduce the oil output in my skin, so it might be nice in your hair mix too. Just watch the amount--patchouli is very strong-smelling and some aren't fond of it. Guest guest
I'm fixing to do with with neem, karanja cp and mill it and use patch. It seems that patch, lime and litsea are good for that too in a neem soap......so here I go.......and I'll do the other with clay and witch hazel and I think thieves blend oils.....surely one of them will work . evie
